I love what im doing and in the end will be making 250k+ a year but will prob always work 60-80 hrs a week. It took many years of being broke and barely sleeping:manny:

In my late 20s I was working ridiculous hours for 70-80K a year. At the time I didn't mind, my mindset was basically I'm going to work my ass off in my 20s so that by the time I hit my 30s I've set myself up to be financially set and will no longer have to put in those crazy hours. I basically told my job they're going to have to switch me to a different position because it wasn't worth not having a life to get that salary. Ended up in a cushy position that came with a raise. Now I work at most 40 an hour. So for 200K I'd definitely be willing to do that for a couple of years and just save as much as I could then transition to a less intense job.

I feel like you should sacrifice work/life balance early on - like post college - 30 (or before you start a family). Those high paying long hour jobs usually have some sort of prestige, once you set the benchmark for yourself as far as qualifications and salary, it's a bit easier to find another high paying job that's more accommodating to a balanced lifestyle. Like you may pull 80+ hour weeks for that 200k job for 2-4 years, but when you're ready to bounce you go find a $140k/yr job that hits for the normal 40-50 hours.

But long term - happiness/fulfillment >> money. If you're lucky and have a job that you love and it's part of your happiness equation, great, but if you're like most of people, working to afford to do the things that make you happy or pursue a passion, then don't go killing yourself with long hours.
Facts.

The gym is open before, during and after work. You can have health but sacrifice time for $$ till youre in a position to make money moves.
Invest in a pull up bar and some 35 lb dumbbells do cardio on offdays

It’s not worth it working hours like that. You pay in more ways than time. I’d never do it. Time is too valuable. The worst part is you become the “giving it to the busiest person because they know how to meet a deadline!” person

200k is not enough for me to work 80+ hours. There is an income at which I would do it though. But at that level of work you need to be in the C-Suite for a big company, partner at a large firm, or working at a startup with major upside, something along those lines.

$200k aint shyt after tax. It sounds more sexy than its worth depending on your hours.
If you can pull 200k with a 40 hour week. You're winning.
