Jag x-type, beautiful when it ran but hell on earth when it stopped running.

the problem with these cars is that their problems literally limp the car and take away from even just regular driving.

i bought an 02 xtype off my brother as a winter beater, nice little v6, all wheel drive, heated everything, leather seats, fully loaded etc

theyre engineered and chained TERRIBLY.

The tranny computer is in the WOAT location in the drivers side footwell

41xJpIzS7DL.jpg

and the A-pillar seal eventually breaks over time, so water gets in from the windshield, soaks the tranny computer, shorts it and starts throwing codes and a whole bunch of other shyt. same thing with the ECM, it gets soaked and the car gets fukked. "Gearbox Fault" a notorious and crippling jag/ land rover problem.

after the computer problems the car would only drive in gear 2 or reverse, so i couldnt even drive it in regular traffic(only 1 gear and it would take 2 minutes to get to 12 miles per hour)

i even replaced the tranny computer (had to get it reprogrammed to vin and could only be done at jaguar:hhh::fire: for the low price of $500)

and after that a week later it threw the fault again so i just sold the car for parts.

damn shame, such a beautiful car and smooth drive

1998 oldsmobile cutlass, pulled off the lot and less than 5 miles away the engine starts smoking, radiator had a massive leak, those shytheads sold me a lemon

they fixed that, then I had problems with the gaskets, and then the brakes and cv joints.. this was 2011

1997 Cadillac Deville. :damn:

Car broke my spirit, til this day i'm still shook about cars reliability.

I bought the car in 2003. I replaced numerous parts:

Heater Core
Fuel Pump
Water Pump
Radiator
A/C compressor
Hose
Pullies
many more parts

seemed like every other month I was drop 400-900$ and I wasnt' making any money. .......Car always ran on the hot side, causing a ton of cooling issues.

This car wouldn't not start about once a month. Finally in 2009, me and my girl broke up. And I need to be back out there but I was too scared to drive all over the DMV in that hoopty.

I broke down and copped a 2006 Audi A6:banderas: Pound for Pound my best car.

Put over 100k on it myself and it never broke down on me. 5 years of almost no maintence. :ahh:

I got an 02 sts, and yeah, that bytch runs on the hot side as well. I fukkin hate the Northstar engine. One of the worst engines I've ever had.

Best engine I've ever had was the 5.7L 350(LT-1) in my 96 Caprice. I put that engine thru a lot and it always came thru for me

A nikka who work for GM told me if you change the coolant on the Northstars on a regular basis they’ll be GOAT engine of all time.

Gotta be:duck:, no way an Audi making 100k without any serious problems.

Then again sometimes you just get lucky:ld:

I bought that 2006 Audi A6 3.2 with 30k mile on it. Sold it 5 years later with 140k.

Never broke down, battery never died.

Had an small oil leak (sold it with it) and had to replace a airbag sensor ($400).

Only maintenance was brakes and oil change and the 50k 75k 100k suggested maintence.

Great car, great on gas (none quattro). Large tank, I could go from DC at Atlanta on 1 tank. 9 hours on one tank.

The only reason I traded it in, bcuz i saw this A8L. And my 2006 didn't have a mp3 player or AUX. smh

Had a 1991 Ford Taurus for a little bit after my Acura got stolen straight garbage. It over heated and got shytty gas mileage. Had it for a year and dumped it and got my 1st Infiniti, a 1996 I30.

My first lexus was a 03 IS300. Had it from 2011 till 2014. Ran with NO ISSUES at all. Some dummy rear ended me and the car was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.
They cut me a check for 8k.

Took that money went to Adesa Auction and copped a 04 GS430 with 120k miles for 2800 out the door. All it needed was front left quarter panel, left headlight and new tires all around. I also replaced the timing belt just to be on the safe side. That car ran with NO ISSUES at all.
Till last week a stupid plow truck side swiped it. :snoop:
Insurance is going to cut me a check for 5k.

I am now thinking of getting a 05-06 LS430 or GX470.
Lexus quality and reliability is simply IMPECCABLE :ohlawd:
