I have 2. Ironically both of them were made by Dodge. A 06 Dodge Stratus, and a 99 Dodge Intrepid. The stratus lasted 3 years, and the intrepid didn't even make it a year. We'll focus on the latter.
I went to the dealership sometime in December 08 and got the car for 4,995. Now this date is important for the story. 2 months later it was in the shop because the gear stick literally broke off when I shifted into drive. Fixed it. 2 months after that it went back in for the bearings. Fixed it.
The 3rd and final nail in the coffin. November of 09 the front passenger side wheel popped of the car on some final destination sh*t.
The lug nuts was still attached to the rotor on tire. I'm lucky to be alive right now. The dealership wanted 1300 to fix it. Needless to say I just left it there and took the hit on my credit. It recently fell off of my report. But, long story short I'll never trust Dodge again. Period.
LMAO, I got an Intrepid story of my own. It was summer before my senior yr of HS and a cat I used to hoop with had an Intrepid he was selling for like $500. I was excited because all I wanted was a whip of my own, I had been driving my mom's minivan around.
So, he drives it over to the crib. My mom and dad take it for a test drive. Like 30 mins go by, I'm like

where my parents at?
They finally come back like

"It broke down on us while were driving it"

Needless to say we aint buy it.

That eventually led to my dad giving me his old 96 Explorer he wasnt driving anymore. My mom paid to get an engine put in it, I went to the hood tire spot and got some used tires I was rollin
That Explorer is by default my worst car (cuz I've only had 2) but it's my baby, I'ma buy another one in the next couple years. It taught me how to care for a vehicle and be a shade tree mechanic
Often times the truck would just NOT START. I'd drive to my destination all good, come out 3 hrs later shyt would not turn over
Finally figured it was a $2 relay. I ended up grabbing a few of em off an old Windstar at the junkyard. I found out relays and fuses can solve a gang of car issues while driving that truck from 2007-2014
- Sometimes the windows wouldn't raise
- Horn didn't work and I got backed into in a parking lot
(see above, it just needed a relay smh)
- The driver side door only locked manually, somebody ended up "breaking" into the whip and stealing my CD faceplate, some change, and my roommates navigation unit (remember those?)
- Odometer was fukked up and worked intermittently so I know I was somewhere around 280K miles when I sold it, but it only showed 270K something
- Transmission was shyt. I would just sit there 15 secs like
tryna get it to kick from Park to Drive
- Repairs included: alternator, transmission, radiator, fan belt
I finally sold it in 2014 on Craigslist for $500, I haven't run the VIN in a while, it might still be out there on the streets
Like I said, it gave me problems but I loved that 96 Explorer
