Like parents/family networking with other families to vet and make introductions. So the family is still somewhat involved, but in a helping capacity. The man/woman in question would still have agency.

That's cultural. In their culture women are beneath men. The women have to pay to get married to a man and then kiss his feet during the marriage ceremony. Arranged marriage has nothing to do with attitudes towards women and treating them properly.

As a father of daughters I’d prefer this. Both parties can focus on school and achievements instead of dating. I would never hook my daughter up with a clown or a dusty.
