The problem with this is Biggie was Jigga before Jigga...

Meaning he was a visionary. He was traveling and saw a lot of what was going on around the country as unique and interesting.

This was the guy who reached out to Short
This was the guy that reached out to Bone

It was reported that Big was down in Houston & met DJ Screw...liked the scene and wanted to work in the future. This was happening in 96 man.

Big was supposed to do TONY remix. Commission was on the agenda. Cam & Kim were babies...

Did I mention the man was actually getting better as a rapper still too?

LAD is the best written album of HIPHOP history..........hell yes he would............Big would probably have transcended hiphop because his writing style was not just on some regular hiphop shyt.......dude writing style was really on some other shyt.........

I honestly believe he wouldn't be icon status like he is now. As nice as he was I didn't like the direction he seemed to be going in on LAD. He'd still be a legend but I don't think he'd be anybodys top 5
that verse on victory though :wow:he def wasnt losing it on the mic

shyt, he might have had a nas-like trajectory

-ready to die/illmatic - the grimy debuts
-LAD/IWW - well received, but people werent feeling the polished feel and the direction like you said
-born again?/nas next two albums - dropped some bullshyt that nobody liked :lolbron: then after that, maybe he says fukk puff and goes his own way
-stillmatic/gods son / whatever the big equaivalents would have been :wow:

No for the simple fact that the tension between the east and west would have not ended had biggie lived.

Yes, not even a debate. Even if he fell of he already had made 2 classics, can't even think of a bad Big verse off my head, influenced hip hop fashion forever, etc. And he woulda had Dipset and Kim under him so even he did slump he would been on his mogul tip.

Eastside of that Motor
Nah. He was the first to bring his team on (mafia) first to really have the tmz life (faith and kim) was about to do clothes, about to produce Puffs album. Big was gonna be the first business man rapper. I see him where Jay is now and I’m not trolling

You think so?

I always felt like it would be Big and Jay vs Nas and Ghostface/Rae
their relationship would of been similar to nas and AZ
once they dropped that commission album, jay-z would of always been seen as a underboss
he was a gold artist, joining a group with the most popular rapper in the world
who's better doesn't really matter at that point. some people think az is better den nas, but as far being KING of ny, record sales what not, they are on two different levels
same situation would be of happened with big and jay-z

and if we keeping it a 100, jay'z whole marketing scheme towards becoming a household name was centered around biggies death
if big doesn't die, i think jay woulda quit rap before the 2000's and hustled into something else.

jay-z wouldnt of been popular enough to really beef with biggie. biggie and nas would of stopped sending subiminal shots at eachother and went into a full fledge battle for the crown.

Young ngga perspectives....:scust:

The tide may not have even shifted as quickly the way it did toward X and grimier rap if he hadn't died (X still would've been a superstar) Secondly...the ngga could do grimey or glossy rap...which way you want it? :hula: Like nggas already said...he was highly-talented. LAD was still holding up lyrically yearsssss after he died against anything that was out in the late 90s..early 00s which tells you..mentally he was way ahead the game. Hov was his son at a point...:stopitslime: and Mase...an upcoming titan in his own right at the time was sidekick status... :troll:...Cam sidekick too.

True alot of these young mofos wasnt around when BIG made impact which was actually prior to the release of his First LP...

I recall first hearing BIG on Mr cee and Easy Moe Bee mixtapes i use to cop at Beat Street records downtown BK and the Albee Square mall

And it was only one other mcee that being NASTY NAS that made me make this face everytimeni heard them on cassette tapes
:whoo:

Cause BIG wasnt just kicking hustle raps..he did shock value horrorcore lyrics very well

Jay wasnt even in the equation.....

One reason was due to the fact the nyc COKE RAP field was already saturated with BIG...RAE...GHOST...and the mixtape cats like Money Boss Playas...and Children of the Corn

So i slept on Jay...didnt give Reasonable doubt a chance like most people

Till i heard him on clue mixtapes......

And was like:ehh:

Duke is nice on the mic......

But all that being a greater rival to BIG than NAS was garbage to me......

Hell he couldnt even handle BIG L
:manny:

I understand you nikkaz hate puff & all
what I don’t understand is why you same nikkaz post bullshyt that’s fiction and try to rewrite history

1. biggie didnt take his crew/artist to bad boy cause at the time bad boy only had a budget for two artistes

2. if biggie had such a bad deal then why one of urban music/hip hop mags from back in da day do an article saying the top 3 rap deals(points system) in the game was snoop, raewkon & biggie

3. biggie /cmack was initially signed to uptown records under puffs wing from andre harell thereafter puff got fired and that’s when big went back to the block... till puff made his new deal with clive davis
see this is the type of shyt that makes you and others sound like complete haters because you know this shyt but you choose to post a complete lie or rewrite history for whatever reason or motive
breh - shyts is really shameful

4. *smh* at even posting nonsense of charging to be in his videos & joining deathrow - like you really gonna act like every DR artist left there record label satisfied
biggie's deal was horrible to the point that he had to sell Puff half of his publishing for cash due to being broke. Even at the time of his death he had financial issues. It's been said by Faith and more recently Gene Deal. Puff keeps all of his artists broke. that's a known fact
