His current income is not that great though. If that's the limit he wants to set on himself for some damn football then so be it. Money is not everything but if you're going to pass up good opportunities over watching some tv then I can't fukk with that.
he said he makes 68-70k now, a $14k raise isn't worth it if that schedule is gonna wear on him...i'm not even thinking about the football piece, missing football is small in comparison to being locked into weird hours and days. i personally wouldn't fukk with that because it would interfere with my social life and a few of the activities i engage in...folks who work retail, truck drivers, construction, etc may be used to off hours, but don't act like going from a normal 8/9-5/6 M-F office job to some other weird schedule is a simple easy jump for everyone. people forget how regimented we can become.

Hesitating on a $26k salary bump over football? LOL.
Personally, I wouldn't sacrifice my weekends for a $10k bump at this point in my life, but $26k? Hell, yeah!

its not even the concept of missing football...its sacrificing my weekend. Work/Life balance is very very important to maintain.

I dont think a lot of people realize how fukked up a 3pm - 11pm schedule is. I wouldnt even take the job based solely on that. Add on working every weekend with that bullshyt and its a definite no go.

i prefer working weekends, but id imagine its different other places midweek than vegas. stuff is cheaper, and less crowded mid week id much rather would go out on a wednesday night than a saturday night

He said that job pays $58,000. Even for a $14K raise I'd choose work over watching football. Raise + promotion. The saddest thing is dude still can watch the games.

I get wanting to have a social life and whatever. That's cool. But dude is talking about watching football. He can still do that AND work. I don't get the problem.

IMO it's more than the money. It's about moving up another step in your career. Keep on moving...don't stay complacent.

edit...after reading that audi story...I mean... c'mon :mjlol:
