If I was in a step daddy situation I would pretty much promote a strong relationshiop with the kids and the biological dad, because nobody can care for them like their own dna.

Any low life who makes it a competition with the biological father is a narcissist and a scammer. Like as a man who can you not have empathy for that relationship. Too many dads out here suffering to not have empathy for them.

This is my hypothetical, as I woulnd't really want to be in that situation.

That's a good way to look at it. Dudes in here preaching "it takes a village", but don't want to cultivate a village, they want a dictatorship where they call the shots and the bio dad falls in line.

I actually remember a situation where a guy kinda thought like you, he never said nothing to the dad, but tried to flex on the son like the son has to let him know when he's leaving with his dad....

and guess what, the son jumped the step dad to fight

Dont assume you will call the shots between parents and kids, and think the kids will comply either. Especially if THEY and the dad think you're out of pocket...
