Wouldn’t it make more sense if we prayed to our sun?

because their bullshyt seeps into my society and my government. other than that, you're right

anti abortion and stem cell research? "jesus wouldn't like it"
possibility of climate change? "nope, god wouldn't let the climate change"
as an objective observer im disgusted by people giving money to the church that could be spent elsewhere, but to the larger degree that isnt my business

so like i said; if you want to talk to the wall in the privacy of your own home, and you think jesus the magic jewish zombie is on the other end of the telephone, fair enough. but christian ignorance and trash is WAY too influential in the country to act like they're above criticism and calling out their bullshyt
Okay.

Whatever is the reason a person has a value that is decided in private is their prerogative, assuming you live in a society that doesn't impose their values on your through authoritarian governing.

If you are a pragmatist, based on your reasoning, what gets them to go to the polls to vote shouldn't cause your to be so hostile about what they believe in their house, if you feel as if values are only imposed through free speech and voting.

------------------

What's funny is, I'm interested in your opinion in how many people actually ignore climate change because "god will work it out" or are against abortion because "jesus wouldn't like it."

It seems like you are ignoring the fact that there can be religious people who also may currently believe that a fetus is a living person or at the very least, they aren't comfortable with certain stages of abortion b/c modern technology can fully answer whether the fetus feels pain or has some human sentience yet.

Or ignoring the fact that many people are victims of where they get their education from regarding climate change - not because of religion - but b/c of political or financial agendas of those who control their media.

Not trying to interrogate you, though. I'm just fascinated by those who seem to thirst at the chance to give vitriolic responses regarding other people's religions.

Good talk, you can have last word if needed. dap + rep

Arrogant as fukk :russ:

Thats why I'm humble about religion.
thats how i feel i am. of course there could be a god, I have no idea if theres one out there or not

what im NOT gonna do is listen to another human tell me what god is :camby: especially since theyve come up with a thousand stories that all contradict each other, and by basic logic, most of them if not all of them would be fake

:dead: are you gonna act like christian culture doesnt have a massive influence on this country :why:

how about this irrefutable example; you couldnt dream of getting elected in america if you didnt at least pretend to believe in "god and jesus". i find that to be pretty embarrassing :yeshrug:

First intelligent thing you've stated on this subject......EVER.

Then you, as an intelligent human being possessing logic, should be able to figure out what has merit rather than what does not instead of doing what many of those with your ideological predisposition seem to delight in doing.....expressing the most theologically ignorant and obtuse opinions devoid of any semblance of rationality imaginable.

Nothing embarrassing about that, unless it's found out that you're just fronting. But, we ALL know the majority of politicians lie to get elected so your example is a wash as they aren't actually representative of what Christianity is 'supposed' to encompass.

IDC what you believe in so long as you can run this country well and don't start WW III.

no, we should pray to the creator of the sun
and no, Jesus is not a reference to the sun. Sun worship is prohibited in the Bible.
no problem with enslaving other humans though :patrice: "god" had interesting priorities, to say the least

i was referring to the ignorant, sheeplike nature of the christian populace. because you can believe in god, but it better not be the version who spoke to muhammad instead :sas1:

Don't recall reading anywhere where G-d went out on hunting trips grabbing people up and putting them in chains for life.

Oh, that was the Quran......after Muhammad got control of Medina.
