In the off-season a lot of stories always come out and not a damn thing happens....I liken it to the NCAA having guilt over making money over the hard work of these brothers like white people have guilt about slavery...

I love all the "we'll it happens everywhere, so it's not a big deal". If you follow college basketball & more importantly the SEC, why is it that Auburn is ALWAYS involved in a MAJOR scandal. Always. Not once every 10 years. Not some BS secondary infractions, but always a pay for play/academic fraud type scenario? It's EVERY year.

This is a rumor I read on the AJC blogs about one of Auburn's infamous boosters

If anyone 'gets' Auburn it will be the FDIC and the FBI, not the NCAA. When Lowder's Colonial Bank failed there was credible evidence that bank funds had been diverted to Auburn for paying players. The investigation churns on today at a snail's pace but the FDIC and the FBI are very serious about recovering what is determined to be misused funds that did or could have contributed to bank failures.

Bobby lowder breh? It's either him or the victoryland dude, and he was acquitted. Lowder is most likely who they're referring to, and dude been disassociated for years. People just regurgitate the same shyt over and over, because there is no way that ties into the football team whatsoever even though I don't doubt he provided stuff. I say that because the fbi and ncaa are two separate entities, but they are investigating colonial bank, not the football program. That's why I say it's a nonstory, they aren't gonna do the ncaa's work for them and they don't have subpoena power. Am I denying that dirt happens at auburn? No, but trust me conspiracy theorists always dig up these stories that could be dug up at any school, and the only difference is that auburn basically stood up to the ncaa and said prove it where as most schools self impose sanctions. That's exactly what happened at penn state to a larger degree. The ncaa has no legal power and cant come dowb on auburn without the fear of being sued because there is too much at stake down there. Im not trying to make it a Bama vs auburn thing but I promise you the same thing happens there because I've seen it. Point is that without a paper trail the ncaa has their hands tied. Oh and lastly, what sec school got caught last for paying a player?

AUburn is a hot button topic for the moment, even moreso than the U. But this stuff has been going on for years and EVERYBODY does it. Trust Me. The main reason why these stories blow up so fast now is because of the media age we live and that a journalist no longer has to have integrity when it comest to his/her writing....They can just throw a story out there and see if it sticks.
