Its a dumb thing to say

Creativity and talent is not sumthin that progresses wit age
U may learn to harness it better wit experience but it doesnt necesarily mean ur work will be better(as weve seen time and time again)

How is it more impressive that Nas made Illmatic at 19 or MJ made Thriller at 24? They were already basically fully developed adults at the apex of their creativity :dahell:

U cant compare that to prefesional moves in the real world where education experience and contacts r essential factors

And most artists make the best work when theyre relatively young anyways not when they old

Here's how this works...what were you doing at 19? Does it compare to what Nas did in '94? Were you even capable of creating something like illmatic? Now, you can give the nikka his props and keep it moving.
Did u even read wut I said u fukkin idiot?

This thread is in regards to the age factor

Of course creating illmatic is fukkin impressive

But the fact that Nas made it in his early adulthood doesnt make it more impressive. Thats rather standard to put out ur best work while young

A nikka becomin a CEO at 19 would be a million times more impressive, in terms of the relation to his accomplishment and age

It's true. Most people are just lazy, lack confidence, etc etc

It's like when people say, you look good for so and so age... I mean, if you take care of yourself you could look good as well. Instead they sitting around eating salty, sugary, greasy foods. Drinking/smoking often, then wonder why they "ageing," please.

Do something with y'all lives people.

Cause most 19 year old rappers are putting out illmatic. And most 24 year olds arent putting out thriller. I'm 24 and I ain't done shyt close to thriller. They were forever known right then in history books my dude. Every ones trying to make a mark and they did in a relative short time.

Wrong

1) It's more impressive when a young person is able to focus and be disciplined than it is for an adult to do. He could have been out with his boys at 19 doing dumb shyt. Instead he worked for over a year making a classic rap project.

2) You don't put out your best work while young. Ever hear of 10,000 hours? It takes a good 5-10 years to reach your prime at whatever it is you do.

Hip hop has ALWAYS been the innovation of the young.

i'd say music, period. there are countless artists, some of the greatest artists of all-time, ones that have been around for a long ass time, that have done their best work when they were young and early in their careers...or even just starting them.

obviously there are exceptions but since i'm generalizing, i'd say there's something with up and coming musicians...that seem to have that special sauce to their music. maybe cuz they're hungrier, maybe it's because it's the culmination of everything they've been working for their whole lives 'to make it', maybe it's them at their rawest and most free from fan expectations or label pressure....shyt, maybe it's just their 'newness' to us as an audience that makes it seem so good.

so, i can see op's point. being young, exceptional good and successful/acclaimed is pretty much par for the course in the music industry.

Violent j at 18 repping his street gang on wax

nothing impressive about that tho, it's just a hood dude rappin (badly and off beat at times) about doing gangsta shyt. nothing especially poetic about it, flow was weak, the beat wasn't even that good. compared to artists that people point to as making great music for their age such as Nas, Ice Cube, Rakim etc this song is nothing.
