"As far as who wins or loses, don’t kid yourself, the idea of the match is to get Reigns over. If he loses, it’s because they feel that will be more effective for him to get over in the long run.".

Dave just be saying shyt...

That makes sense to me though. The idea that they'll only book him to lose to eventually get his win back later on or ultimately to win a programme

Not really though
Ratings and house show attendance have been proven to go up when John C'GOAT is advertised

There's a precipitous drop when he's not there because they spent so many years funneling most opportunities his way at the cost of everyone else. Now they can ill afford his coming retirement

Im starting to enjoy he idea of seven straight years potentially being reigns "crowning moment" at mania

Like fukk it whatever more heel then obnoxiously trying to be "the big dog" and overcome old nikkas who are past their prime

In 2019 bring back hbk and have roman spear him four times and raise his hands as if he was exhausted and have cole call him the heartbreak dog

2020 have stank come back and have roman super man punch he rest of his mascara off and say he was the kid that buried wcw for good

2021 reanimate the corpse of the late macho man and say that no one is more savage then the Roman Empire after he howls over walking dead randy

If he ain't close, Roman hasn' started to get in the circumference of close. He carried Roman better than all of his no sell matches that get hyped around here as if they are classics. The end of that AJ/Roman match was as dumb, if not, dumber than Cena squashing Nexus at Summerslam 2010 after the DDT on concrete revival.

I don't see why they have such a desire for 'A' top guy. That's a vestige from an era gone past. When Hulk Hogan was bigger than the WWF as a whole, sure. Today? Have a group of top guys that appeal to all demos and have them trade opportunities instead of give them all to Roman.
The thing is during the attitude era you Rock, Austin, Taker, Mankind, Triple H, Angle, Kane, Big Show then you had guys like Jericho & Benoit get main event slots on ppv as well. Even tho Rock & Austin were above the rest the other guys where just as good major acts and they where treated as much.

They literally had a rotation of main event act so every ppv was actually was a big deal because of the guys involved. Which goes back to the other thread of mania type main event happening at B-level ppv.
