Detroit
Detroit always has urban issues.. but I don't like the recent developments either.

First off, Gentrification is on steroids right now.. black people are getting displaced like it's South Africa.

White people have taken over entire sections of the city.

:childplease:

:usure: I see white people moving downtown and midtown , thats because they got crazy incentives for people buying properties in those areas. Most of those white people are employees of quicken loans or other companies that choose to make Detroit home of their headquarters

blacks not being displaced they just choosing to move across 8 mile

that's true for some... but those employees are only half, the other half are just riding the it's cool to live in midtown wave.

They chose to move because the city was horrible and not managing services and money correctly.. and because the things that are happening now that should have been happening then. Also, the making of East subs very affordable was part of the plan anyway. Making people feel good about living in warren, roseville for 500/month n shyt.

Also, you may not have knowledge of this but many low income communities close to downtown are forced, not choosing to leave. There are other neighborhoods, but the Case Corridor is doing it the most because that's a CAC hipster dream set up location. Red Wings owners, and the new business owners wanna build high priced homes and a new stadium. Residents in three apartment buildings on Henry Street between Cass and Second Avenues received a hand written notice on April 20 saying that they had to move out within thirty days. Basically, thousands of black people are being told, get down or laid down (put in jail). A few apartments closer to downtown are doing the same type of letters. NTM, the 100's of milllions of federal money that local banks and realtors are refusing to spend - the money is meant to keep people in their home, They are holding on to it until the homes are up for sell.... lets just say I'm looking at a joint right now that only cost freakin 2,500... shyt's demonic breh.

I don't have an issue with improvements, I have an issue with racial politics and corporate interests being more of a motivating factor than real city issues.

If they're in apartment buildings, they don't own their place of residence, they rent. The owner has the right to do wutever the fukk he wants with his property. Economic redevelopments, especially around sports areas are happening in a lot of cities.

Without Gentrification Detroit is pretty much at a point of no return.

That's what Happenes when you have a BIG city that relied on only ONE industry.

It's a shame what it's came to, I wonder how long it will take for them to completely change it.

no city with a 80% black population and where cacs are the minorities is ever gonna come back completely, but this is exactly what detroit and a lot of the midwestern rustbelt cities need.

they need to bomb gary indiana and flint and build them back from scratch.

People depending on Berry Gordy to fix the city lol.:heh: Detroits problems go way deeper than Gordy's pockets. No jobs, lead to high crime rate. Horrible city officials. The damn city just has an air of despair. Gentrification may be the way just to help the D.

I have back in the d in about 6 years, but I'm interested to know what areas are being taken over. Midtown, and downtown was already in full Effect when I was still living there.

I use to live over by outer drive, and Mack, easily one of the nicest areas in the city, it's right on the border of grosse point so I know they coming for that.

If they like these NYC hipsters, in the hood giving no fukks, walking around freely, then I'd be extremely surprised.

I finally convinced a friend of mine to invest 100K intro Detroit in the coming months.

Hopefully I will get another 2 to really start something big. Its about building influence and solving 3 problems in Detroit with a single focused goal.

Why can't people do the research and get something done? :snoop:
