Maybe because he can refine his game to the point that instead of getting one million dollar contract (and then be out of the league in 3 years), he can get several of them. Doesn't always work out that way, but I can never fault someone that thinks longevity instead of right now.

College Basketball is not going to refine his game. The level of competition is a joke. He is better getting that money and developing as he goes. Either way if he puts in the work he will be in the NBA for a long time. He could refine his game all he wants in college and still get crushed in the NBA and put in the bushes.

Let's wait until those nikkas actually touch the court, y'all hyping the shyt out these high school nikkas.

If he improves and gets better during his 2nd year he's still gonna be the best PG prospect

Exactly. These same people on this forum hyped up last year's draft as the best draft since the Lebron.... It's still early but most of those guys ain't exactly looking like future Hall of Famers (Austin Rivers, Kendall Marshall)

Some scouts and people were saying his skillset and game play resembled a young Kobe(Rivers)

:comeon: your analysis of a player is based off a YouTube highlight reel.
:deadrose: they had Marques Teague looking like a superstar in his high school mix
That's the point of the video...it's a best of compilation.

Let's say he goes to the league right now, flops and doesnt play well and then what happens? nikka is D-League bound/fringe rotation player the rest of his career

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
Burke has NBA range. Smart doesn't even have junior high range.

Trey Burke a 43 percent shooter and 34 from long range as a fresh
As a soph bumped it up to 47 and 38.

As a pg no guard gets to the rim like mart

He will work with a shooting coach and surprise you nugga

This is a legit question and Im not tryna sound facetious or anything but how exactly does a player staying in college "improve" their game moreso than playing in the NBA hell even playing in the D-league. At least your practicing and playing with and against NBA caliber players as opposed to being in college, most of them would be lucky to make it in the CBA.

You're also signed to a team that's investing millions into you so you're going to have the best training staff to work on your "individual" game

Trey Burke stayed and look what happen to him :manny:

Yea but Trey Burke actually had room for improvement. Smart's would have been a top 5 pick (GREAT chance at number 2), there really isnt much moving up he can do and chances are he'll fall.
