Yea but Trey Burke actually had room for improvement. Smart's would have been a top 5 pick (GREAT chance at number 2), there really isnt much moving up he can do and chances are he'll fall.
But what's the point in being the No. 2 pick in the draft at a position like PG when this dude isn't ready to run the point for an NBA franchise full time.
He wasn't a point guard in high school and really played the position this past season out of necessity. He was on the radar of GM's coming into this season as a potential lottery pick at the 2, and the promise he showed playing the point vaulted his draft stock, but just from watching him this season, he's got a way to go before I would feel comfortable with him at the 1 on a permanent basis. I think he understands this as well, and that's why he's coming back.
