How exactly is it an L? If it wasn't Jay, it would've been someone else and he made it his business to say Allen Iverson had her too. We as fans didn't really know who Carmen was. So you had Nas's baby mother, someone prior to the diss wasn't mentioned on wax or even known ro the general public. Of all the celebrities he was around and all the women he could've bragged about, he chose Nas's relatively anonymous baby mother.

Tahiry was on Love & Hip Hop. People knew who she was. Not even the same thing.

Jay's style is slick and polished but that doesn't really hold up in the face of someone raw. Nas was once Nasty Nas. He still made Illmatic. Despite his stumbles musically his pen was never in question.

In a battle that cute shyt isn't going to work. Jay had the status to battle Nas but it wasn't a good match for him style wise. Biggie vs Nas would've better because Big could get grimy.
