soon as nikkas heard "I wear a mean dark pair of shades" the party was lit

I was in DC at that time....Ballin was legendary and had clubs in 2006 running wild, especially for homecoming games at HU and other places in the DMV area.

I'm looking at all the chart positions and Oh boy was clearly higher. You basically had Mariah remake it. That song practically launched Dipset to the mainstream hip hop world

In what way was we fly high bigger?

chart position isnt an accurate guide or drake would be hands town the best rapper out, we fly high was bigger the fact did it had the shooting lil dance to it put it over the top, everyone was doing that at parties, then giants players did it too.. took it over the top

because it was more influential outside of the rap world..

it became the ny giants anthem

it's also the year when these songs came out that's important.

When Oh Boy came out, it was a great song in a sea of great songs.

When We Fly High came out, NY was desperate for an anthem.

Only way I could see ''Ballin'' being a bigger hit than ''Oh Boy''
is because Ballin came during a terrible period of HipHop
sure Ballin is going to be a big hit when you released music during a time period
when rappers such as MIMS, Dem Franchise Boyz, and Soulja Boy were out.

exactly

'We Fly High' still gets played in clubs to this day

I haven't heard that song anywhere in like a decade :what:

soon as nikkas heard "I wear a mean dark pair of shades" the party was lit

you dig?!! :banderas:

I hated We Fly High from day one but that was always my favorite part of the song.

We Fly High was the signal for "wow, hip hop is really falling off and falling off FAST".
