So Rza is being his typical corny self on here? You guys wanted to roast me when i was saying he's become a doofus earlier in the year. He hangs with too many yes men CACS/Bum rappers and has an out of control ego.

If you couldn't tell he was toast from the Wiz Khalifa/Boy Jones song off man w/iron fists or the awful beats he had on the last U God album i don't know what to tell you.

you sure?

Honestly after listening to those snippets...I think you're right breh. That shyt sounds horrible. The instrumentation just sounds uninspired and generic, which just doesn't work for rap IMO. You can get away with that in rock or pop due to melodies but hearing these dudes rap the same way over that shyt for 12 tracks is gonna be too much...I gotta jump off the train....

And it's not even about white boys/cacs. Lord knows there are a bunch of dope white producers out there, hell Europe is full of weird ass cacs making 90s style beats that are dope. To me it's more about who RZA surrounds himself with. He spent half a mill on the album...but every piece of art released so far is WACK. No videos, no hype mini trailers on youtube, and these tracks...I understand they want to uplift folks but you can do that while still making it bump in the whip (shout outs to Tribe Called Quest).
:scust:

Dunno brehs, I just can't cosign this...The Preacher's Daughter...? Who the fukk cosigned that shyt? Why RUIN a classic sample like that when you could just get a soul singer to do the hook?

Everything about this sounds out of touch and out dated.

people seem to be on the fence about this one so I can't call it. From what I've heard so far (5 tracks) I like it

I don't think its going to be the dividing album that 8D became, but there are some tracks that will split the fanbase up a bit. but Ron O Neal is among the weakest sounding to me but that's not getting slammed. not really getting a lot of love either but not negative like Heart Gently Weeps

imo if you feel whats already been leaked you should like most of the other beats. theres 5-6 others that are better (except Necklace which is super dope) and stand with the upper crust of Iron Flag and 8D. hopefully theres a lot of twists and turns some of the tracks are 5 mins plus

Cilva said he didn't hear Streetlife when he peeped it, that sucks I don't mind a quick SL verse. but he did not hear Big Horn so theres still a possibility

Keep Watch sounded better, theres an extra note that helps the beat out.

wiki has the track lengths up, theres either skits or something extra going on on a number of songs. Crushed Egos is only 2:26 that's right there with MGM for shortest group track

No Street is a disappointment

I appreciate you being unbiased as I know your a huge Wu fan but I think what we need to do is take a step back, breathe, and realize that we are judging SNIPPETS, not full songs. You seemed ready to travel down to Staten Island and smack RZA with a Wok while his Guitar Gently Weeped for that Preachers Daughter hook lol...

I remember when the snippets for Good Kid m.A.A.d City leaked and thinking to myself that Backseat Freestyle was going to be the worst thing Kendrick ever did, now I love that track and couldn't imagine the album without it, we shouldn't judge before we get the full product

You're right. I'll wait till I hear the full product.

apparently MK was one of the real leaders on the project, thats dope. similar bullshyt from Rae and Ghost, but thats the most they've had record together since The W.they both sound good so far, its just a shame they didnt join the others in the old Wu Mansion. always wondered the same thing about Rae on 8D, if he disliked it so much why was he on 8 songs? i think he had the most apperances. Ghost made his stance clear, but Rae didnt seem to mind writing to half the album. odd

much bigger focus on topics and structure, i understand where Deck is comin from but RZA's really producing the whole record for a change. thats cool for me

From the snippets it seems like they all stepped their bars up. Guys like deck and mk sound so flat on their solo joints but wenever their with the wu they come to life. To me the wu is the greatest collective of emcees and i think they could make any instrumental sound good when their in their zone. Some of these beats and the beats of the full songs they've put out so far sound good but none of them stand out. I would have loved to have seen raes idea of the shoalin vs wu tang album become a reality, where it was everyone minus the abbot cus i know they still have the ability to create classics. Rza is like a weight at this point.
