there's some shyt I saw a few years ago, I dunno how companies treat it... I guess they can get you whenever
but most music companies will let shyt slide until you sell over 20k-30k copies of a project... that's when they feel you are making enough and come for a cut
WSG is too famous at this point to not clear shyt. You end up looking like a meal if you got money and start grabbing uncleared shyt. People will sue you for anything at that point

He did a few things wrong here that got him cased up outside of just the bad publicity. First, he tried to represent his company’s legal team without consulting them…WWE might be a clown show but they attorneys the hire are serious professional people. He threw their names into something without consulting them which could have triggered a counter suit by Gunn’s people. Second, dude whether he was joking or not basically tried to legally negotiate (read extort) dude for 20-30k publicly concerning material that not even he himself owned the rights to since it’s actually WWE’s intellectual property. There’s a reason why Danielson won’t do the “yes” chant on AEW television. Tony doesn’t even want to have to have that conversation across the table, it costs too much to even have that conversation with WWE right or wrong.

He definitely earned that garbage bag

Yes he absolutely went about things the wrong way, but he isn’t wrong in wanting to pursue legal action against Westside Gunn for using his intellectual property without his consent. That really shouldn’t be over looked.

Why can't people take an L gracefully on the internet? I don't get it. You're anonymous on here. You were talking out your ass, ol boy got fired. It's not the end of the world. It's ok to step back and be like "damn, maybe I don't know what the fukk I'm talking about" instead of doubling down.

Fred.
