I’ve been fighting a false allegation for 2 years now was found innocent the person admitted they were lying and I was still basically forced into retirement...

Especially with domestic violence and sex assault cases, prosecutors are more motivated to pursue charges because of the political environment and the fear that even if the case is weak, they might just end up letting a defendant commit another beating or rape on their watch. Prosecutors would rather pass the buck to a jury to determine if the defendant is innocent rather than drop charges. Plus, DAs benefit from prosecutorial immunity, so even if they convict someone who is factually innocent, they face few repercussions.
