Also, for those complaining about some big AAA game, The Outer Worlds looks to be that, for now. Clearly, all the new studios are working to get ready for next year.

Breh honestly, can you honestly with a straight face pretend that God of War, the one that came out last year to rave reviews and reception by gamers on PS4 can be criticized as "more God of War?" the same way someone seeing Gears of War 3, 4 and 5 as more of the same?

I'm sure you didn't realize but Persona has been around for TWENTY years. The last mainline one came out in 2016(2017 for US).

How long has Grease been around for? 13 years.

The point being that even though Sony may have 1 or 2 IPs that's been around for some years, they switch it up after some time plus they make NEW ones.

We didn't have any Horizon Zero Dawn, Dreams or Knacks, the Order 1886s or Spider-Man(from Insomniac) last gen. So it's a difference.

Halo Infinite artstyle looked cartoonish, but I will be looking out for it. I haven't really played Halo in years, not since Halo 3. I am intrigued.

But if Microsoft really are going to move all their games to PC, they are effectively killing their console, in terms of exclusivity. If they are transitioning the Xbox to be an all in one entertainment Box, kind of like Apple TV on steroids, then I can see the merits of doing this.
Make a box that can do all things in addition to playing games as opposed to being specialized for only playing games. I can see them trying to corner the "Apple TV", "Amazon Fire" market.

Xbox plays it safe with gears and Halo. Let's name a successful franchise started by Microsoft this current gen . None. Truth be told they still don't have anything to show. They keep saying wait and be patient. I'm sure more will be shown near Xbox Scarlett reveal but plain and simple they didn't have anything to show. Their biggest announcement was Phantasy star online 2, imo. Nothing else was Earth shattering. Nothing super impactful. Remember the God of War reveal ? Or Horizon ? Or Spiderman ?

Let's just be honest, with all th bullshyt acquisition noise that doesn't mean a thing, their main focus is game pass. They can cruise on that without really making the big budget shyt. Phil said they were gonna make big AAA solo games every wants, but where were they today? I saw a bunch of Indies and 2 recurring franchises. Nothing else. If that's your focus, why hasn't that goal been reiterated to the public? nikka they are trying to put their services on other people's shyt: switch and now PC. Mobile is up next, just watch. They're trying to emulate Amazon and Netflix. Their only problem is Sony will find a way to significantly dip into that market. I really hope they have games lined up that we will give a damn about...system selling games. I'm a bit skeptical that acquiring studios fixes that situation. Obsidian got acquired and their new outerworlds looks like a flop. nikkas thought *finally a new fallout *. Looks like Bethesda is gonna have the last laugh

Gears aint like God of War. There's no multiplayer community to worry about pissing off with GOW so you can completely reinvent that ho and not have much issue. There's only so much you can do with Gears combat wise before you cross that "Not my Halo" shytstorm line where half the fanbase is just bytchin about wanting to go back to the old days.

They can't really fukk with the core mechanics so it's always going to have that gears cover system but they can add on to that with shyt like melee

and they're opening up the game world with some open world traversal with the skiff.

I wish they would have shown more campaign but they was on that dumb shyt this year so it is what it is.

As far as new IP goes they got the teams to do work now but it'll be a while before than can show their cook up. Microsoft bout to have the RPG game sewn up with the studios they have now.
