I don't subscribe to Netflix or any other app for that matter. I'm getting game pass through a friend but if that ever stops it'll be the only thing I will actually pay for.

They do you just have to convert core to Ultimate. You can get 2 years of Ultimate for close to $170 vs $480 for rack rate. I've done that in the past, just figured they would have something standard for the year like Sony does with Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers w/out any kind of conversion or codes needed.

And you only had to pay for Gamepass. They also have plans they wanted to roll out like the Family plan but there was pushback from developers saying it was too cheap ($25 for 5 Gamepass subscriptions) and its been a total silence while they try to figure out the best way to leverage Gamepass moving forward.
They could fukk this up if they get too greedy, its not the Activision acquisition like others keep saying. Its other developers not wanting to get shafted on the Gamepass backend. I expect the family plan to eventually roll out at $25-$30 but with only 3-4 passes.Maybe do a bundle for $50 a month and you get Disney/Amazon/HBO/Gamepass/etc. We will see, its just the natural order of thangs.
