Not a bad show, enjoyed most of it. I can already see the battles being drawn on Outer Worlds 2 being the game that popped the $80 cherry for Microsoft, but I digress, I might not like it, but I understand the market realities about it. Also, I'm far from the average consumer and spending $10 extra on this didn't even elicit as much as a shoulder shrug from me. I spent over $7K in gaming last year. I'm one of the last people alive that can complain here.

It's just the cool thing to shyt on Xbox since the disaster launch of the Xbox one.
They subscribe to PS Plus Netflix and Spotify but when Xbox does it oh now that's different
i think you are missing the nuance in the point and went straight to GAH CONSOLE WAR! ps plus and gamepass arent the same. and for that matter saying netflix and Spotify arent either. netfix isnt hurting movies sales nor is ps plus hurting game sales overall. neither put movies or games on their service day 1 which was his point

I love Gamepass, for me it's just alot of games that I say I'm going to play and just never get to. Like games I actually bought full price like Witcher 3 , Assassins Creed Valhalla, just sitting in my library, Imagine the Gamepass games. :dead:

Like I think it's just me falling out of love with Gaming, back in 2013, 2014 I would've killed to have this amount of games at my disposal for only 19.99 a month, now I say I'll get to it when I get to it, and end up never getting to it.

That's why I stick to mainly short story based single player games....e.g Clair obscure or the Alan Wake games. I'd rather have a 6-20 hour game with a great storyline rather than anything too grindy

Thats an interesting take.

I would disagree based on the examples of music streaming services. Because of them I have been introduced and opened up to new various artists that I would’ve never checked for without those options.

Like for example

I don’t discover this artist if my only option was just to look at his CD cover and pay $17.99

And we no longer have like the record stores where you can go to a station to listen

Are you really comparing participation in society something that's not really optional with a game subscription service you could entirely ignore and not participate in with zero negative consequences?

You could just as easily not make post or threads on a service you suggest is harmful to the industry and devalues the product. You can sit back and pretend you're impartial and have a rational take on this all you want.

@Gizmo_Duck talks more about gamepass games than sony games.

Yet he has to twist his brain to paint gamepass as a bad thing despite delivering lots of games he’s very interested in.

Sony stans are wack :smh:

Those services aren't attempting to be an everything streaming service like Gamepass is pushing to be.

If everything becomes day one, who's purchasing shyt outside of streaming serivces.

It's great now, but no, I don't want Nintendo/PS/Xbox/Steam to run the market with streaming services.
The option to purchase has been and will most likely always be available to you

It's insane, all these Sony stans are looking really crazy. The box keeps shrinking in on the them and they refuse to budge.

At this point in gaming tbh I couldn't even recommend a PS5 to someone trying to pick out of a Xbox and PlayStation. There are just to many perks of the Xbox ecosystem, the only way I can suggest a PS5 to someone if this play like 1 or 2 games tops a year.

Yes, but if I can play everything on one or 2 streaming platforms, who's purchasing anything?

Same reason people rarely buy albums, the whole damn album is available day 1 spotify.

At that point the streaming platform dictates the market. M$, Sony whoever can come in and start giving 360 deals. Which leads to even less creativity than what were seeing now.

Yea there's still good music/movies/games/TV shows but 75% of them all sound/look the same.

The people who want to buy the products are.

If people value ownership of games they'll continue to buy them. That being said the industry itself has pushed people not to value ownership.

The suggestion that people are only buying these games because there aren't other valid distribution models and if they were presented with other options they wouldn't means that's prime for disruption.

It's like saying people don't value the theater and the only reason they go is because early on that's the only way to watch a movie day one. We'll that's a business opportunity for another company to resolve.

A business model should exist because people want it not because they're held hostage to it.
