Thats an interesting take.

I would disagree based on the examples of music streaming services. Because of them I have been introduced and opened up to new various artists that I would’ve never checked for without those options.

Like for example

I don’t discover this artist if my only option was just to look at his CD cover and pay $17.99

And we no longer have like the record stores where you can go to a station to listen

it’s not really a contradicting point though.

you have more access to everything, but you also treat more things as disposable. Unless a game version of GNX comes out it just feels like cannon fodder.

The same way spotify and streaming services devalued music.
I guess you missed the Napster / Kazaa / SoulSeek era of music. That's what devalued music. People were getting if for free.

Streaming services got people to pay for music. Technology and instant digital accessibility devalued music.

Not mad at this take, but back in the day I'd discover a artist on the Radio/TV/Internet and went and paid 17.99 since I'd become a fan.

Same way with games, I'd play a demo or something, and then boom I'm making the purchase.

I love Gamepass, for me it's just alot of games that I say I'm going to play and just never get to. Like games I actually bought full price like Witcher 3 , Assassins Creed Valhalla, just sitting in my library, Imagine the Gamepass games. :dead:

Like I think it's just me falling out of love with Gaming, back in 2013, 2014 I would've killed to have this amount of games at my disposal for only 19.99 a month, now I say I'll get to it when I get to it, and end up never getting to it.

I just remember as a kid back in 1991 there was rumors of a “Sega Channel”

and I waited years for that to come.

In them old gamers mags…. They used to hype that up BIG TIME.

This is closest example of that…. A promise fulfilled and I dont get the hate….

Especially from anyone with 19 on their birth Date year

You think it's going to sell a bunch of copies at 80?
Don’t fukking matter. That’s what yall don’t get.

It will make money and serve its purpose.

Games generate revenue for years now.

You guys stuck on the old console wars way of thinking.

If it’s a good game, people will play it and it will be successful. More ways to pay/play is a good thing.

The days of them demo’s in them game mags are gone now :russ:

Does anyone even still by Game Informer mags?

You already know why they hate it. EA, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo all have subscription services. Gamefly also exist and you don't see any real post bemoaning any of those.

Lol…. Yea I see it :russ:

But just trynna have an honest conversation

Before I get back into my jokes and fukkery banter.

I want to understand the mind and reasoning from some of these folks…. Shoot it may help me elevate my material
