At that point the streaming platform dictates the market. M$, Sony whoever can come in and start giving 360 deals. Which leads to even less creativity than what were seeing now.

Yea there's still good music/movies/games/TV shows but 75% of them all sound/look the same.

You pretend subscription service is free.

35 million gamepass subscribers at ~$15 a month.

You do some math and think about how many games that could support……and it’s still growing…

At this point in gaming tbh I couldn't even recommend a PS5 to someone trying to pick out of a Xbox and PlayStation. There are just to many perks of the Xbox ecosystem, the only way I can suggest a PS5 to someone if this play like 1 or 2 games tops a year.

This isn't the point. M$ could have 100 mil subscribers, then decide to lower the payout for "players played" on the platform. Same with Sony, Nintendo, etc.

i think you are missing the nuance in the point and went straight to GAH CONSOLE WAR! ps plus and gamepass arent the same. and for that matter saying netflix and Spotify arent either. netfix isnt hurting movies sales nor is ps plus hurting game sales overall. neither put movies or games on their service day 1 which was his point

The highest tier ps Plus has a collection of games similar to gamepass. Netflix releases their own movies and shows every week now every other media company has made their own streaming service to compete.

Seen some pretty good variety at the showcases this week. But again, I believe most of what you should be pointing at is the saturation of the market. Games are available every week now, we’re exposed to more so more of it is going to be similar

Will they if they’re a casual? Most people will buy maybe 2-3 games a year. That’s still less than a game pass subscription

Also again not the same the ps plus tier has the gamepass type catalog and nothing in the catalog is day 1 of launch. Sony refuses to do that. Something I don't agree with if they gonna do this type of shyt ...

Also Netflix doesn't stop people from seeing movies in the movie theaters their movies don't drop same day in the theaters again which was Gizmo's point.

the premium catalog is just retro PlayStation games nothing else . The essential tier the first tier and is just the free games monthly and mp access

Right now is the key word. I've said multiple times gamepass is a great deal at the moment, even going as far as recommending it to various posters asking for advice.

The complaints I have about Day 1 games, and the future of streaming game services apply to everyone. not just M$
