TYRONE GA!
If Alan Wake was a major success the small minority of fans wouldn't be begging for a sequel as Remedy stiff arms them. This is an audience that rejects and game that's not in that dudebro lane.

then that means the suits are obviously gunning for a certain demographic just being safe. that's not going to work long term. shyt, it's not working now.

You got sales numbers?
I know when brand new games are released at $59.99 and in a couple weeks they're on sale for $39.99 that means they didn't sell well. $20 price drops usually happen months and months out after the initial sales died down.

I bought all those games and watched them drop within weeks. I couldn't get my money back on Quantum Break and Tomb Raider because they were digital purchases,

The devs and Microsoft have maintained that they were very profitable titles. Tomb raider sold over a million the first week or so.

Insomniac said sunset was a success financially for them.

Ori and the blind Forrest sold well.

Obviously none of them set the world on fire sales wise, but the same can be said about sonys games.

The order, Driveclub, until dawn, aren't doing uncharted numbers. Street fighter did worse than tomb raider

Ready at Dawn said The Order 1886 was well on its way to meeting sales targets. That was before Sony cut ties with them.

Insomniac ran back to Sony almost immediately after Sunset Overdrive flopped. They put out that Ratchet and Clank and now another Sony exclusive is in development with Spiderman.

You quoting PR people like they're ever gonna say anything that doesn't look positive for the parties involved. When games flop the price drops very fast and they don't get sequels, The PR people almost never admit they flopped. Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break never even charted on the NPD for example. No comments from the PR people about that.

So you believe the PR when it fits your narrative, but ignore it when it doesn't?

The order went on sale early and Sony dropped the whole fukking studio, but their PR is just fine.

This is a valid point.
There was a lot of pride in the stronger PS4 hardware.
Now the conversation is focusing on games again.
Which is 100% fine with me, but the flip flop is amusing.

In reality I think it'll boil down to price and of course software, but the price is what people will look at first. If this new XB1 isn't priced competitively it'll flop right out the gate.

When PS3 and 360 came out, I think 360 got a head start due to the lower price point.
I think a similar situation happened with the PS4 and XB1, when the PS4 came out at a lower price point (And in this case the better hardware).

It'll be interesting to see how these PS4.5 and XB1.5 consoles are received.

My random guess is this new XB1 will be $599 - $699 with considerations for a possible loss similar to the PS3 hardware sales.
THE New xbox wont flop. because what may just happen is they get low grade pc gamers to buy in. there's also the retro gamers. the fact that it can be backwards compatible all the way back to the first xbox is something that has never been done before. This retro gaming is an industry with a lot of money thrown at it. so you have two new crowds you could steer xbox's way even if the casuals can't pony up the cash.

I think you failed to see the point of the example I used. If the Order met targets then why was that whole studio dropped? Its obvious the PR guy was lying and reality exposed that.

You going off your own assumptions.

Insomniac had no problem admitting that fuse flopped.

Sunset was profitable for all parties involved.

Scorpio will be at least 599$

Ps3 already proved you can't sell a console that high

This will be a flop overall but obviously good for the hardcore gamers

what's so funny? It does.

The previous games didn't have an over the shoulder 3rd person camera. Plus there were experience points and other gameplay mechanics at hand(aiming bow and arrow.) The combat looked much different(dude threw a frozen axe and held an enemy off for an entire battle).

It's a huge departure from the earlier games.

By that logic Dead Rising 4 is different from all the others so you can't knock it. You sound like a Sony stan.

In reality neither is better than the other, in fact Sony fukked up more since PS2 than Microsoft. Microsoft does more of what the consumer wants. Studies showed no one played the PS3 except to watch netflixs on it, no games came out for PS3 until have the gen was already over. 360 won last gen based on games. This gen they are about even, but Cross-Play can destroy Sony if Microsoft does it right.

People keep using the PC argument to discredit Microsoft exclusives, but that argument is idiotic became Microsoft owns the PC market 90/10..

wait wait wait...

So before Scorpio was official we had plenty of people on this board that wan't to buy a ps4.5 for 4k and the vr for 399-499 and the camera and motion controller.

Now "who has 4k anyway?"

:snoop:

Sony had a great conference they showed off 4 exclusives I personally want. Microsoft had a good conference they showed off 3 I want. Plus they are launching a new system end of next year with cross play and backwards compatibility all the way back to regular xbox.

I'll get the Scorpio more than likely and buy the time it drops most of what we saw at E3 from sony should also be dropping close to that time.

Someone posted reference links of where people visit the coli from (sites they came from to here).
