This will limit the shyt these games can do for Xbox at least until they're fully exclusive since the CPU in the Xbox One and Xb1X are limited as fukk. No matter which way you cut it, games will be held back if they're made with support for older consoles. Graphics will look fine but physics and other tech will have to be scaled down or removed.

No. You made this up. This is dumb.

only reason to hold the games off the old consoles is to force people to upgrade. And buy remasters

Applaud Sony for taking advantage of your pockets brehs :mjlol:

This literally has nothing to do with Playstation or Sony but you just had to bring them up but let's play.

You didn't feel forced when you bought a Xbox One for Halo MCC or Ryse right? :laff:

Nope. Don’t work like that.

Games are scalable.
Game being scalable doesn't mean it's not held back. You buy a new console, you expect new games.

If i buy a PS5, I would like it if the game that's on it isn't held back because it needs to run on PS4 also. It'll obviously look better on the stronger hardware and run faster but there's more to a game simply looking cleaner and playing smoother. There's more to tech than resolution and/or fps.

Again. The existence of an old gen version won’t “hold anything back” that’s a myth made up by forum posters.

We see games made for a wide variety of hardware today, and that will continue into the future. The release of a PS5 doesn’t automatically make any hardware less than it obsolete.

The only reason for Sony to hold games off PS4 early on is to sell you on a new console.

This isn't a myth, devs had stated that :what:

That leaves devs in the awkward position of developing the same game twice, taking up resources that could otherwise be used to make one better game. This is the exact reason that The Witcher 3 won't be coming to last-gen consoles when it releases next February, according to CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwinski. "We’d have to put a couple of years of development into [360 and PS3 versions], and then the experience would be so-so… we’d never do that," Iwinski noted in an interview with Edge. Ubisoft was gentler about its own new-gen exclusive efforts, saying that AC Unity takes full advantage of the PS4 and Xbox One’s updated tech. However, such a statement underscores that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag didn't do that, certainly due in part to resource division. Consider the following: Black Flag had an 8-studio development team that divided its attention between six consoles. Unity has a 10-studio team focused on three. In no way does that math work out in cross-gen's favor.

Anyway, stop talking about Playstation this isn't even a Sony thread :dahell:
