During the time Gibbs was fukking with Jeezy, I think he was in between situations far as a label home for CTE goes...i'm assuming there was a gentlemen's agreement in place where Gibbs would sign wherever CTE ended up...but something went awry...Gibbs announced he was splitting around the same time Jeezy announced the deal with Atlantic, so who knows what happened exactly...Jeezy recently signed them DBC nikkas from Detroit there, so i think he's trying to make CTE a label worth a shyt now

Jeezy isn't gonna do shyt breh.

Roccett,211,Gibbs, Wyte...All these dudes sit on the shelf, then leave.

:yeshrug: ...realistically every single one of those dudes other than Gibbs prolly deserve to be on the shelf...deserve may be a strong word, but just looking at things practically....Roccett or Wyte ain't artists that are ever gonna get major label releases in any fashion other than maybe a group album...now that Jeezy mainly only dealt with those type artists speaks towards him not being serious as a label head in the first place or at least him not knowing what the fukk he was doing...but he at least is now showing the beginnings of pretending to do something actually fukking with acts like YG and Doughboyz Cashout that have real street buzz and local hits in their cities

:what:

Roccett was better than any dude on CTE at the time....he was the first to jump ship when he realized that he wasn't gonna ever drop.

realistically, Jeezy signs these dudes with no intentions of them ever dropping an album...or promoting them.

:heh: being better than the collection of nobodies that was on CTE at the time isn't gonna get you a release date on a major label either...as evidenced by nary a singular solitary fukk given for Roccett since leaving jeezy...I'm not trying to vouch for Jeezy's acumen as an exec...if anything building a label full of generic rappers with zero chance at any degree of commercial success and that no other labels show any interest in is just another example of him being bad at it...just saying that the moves he's made recently with attempting to rebrand CTE with acts that actually have some momentum and potential behind them seems to suggest that he's trying to be more serious about making CTE an actual force

I called this from the minute I heard that Gibbs was runnin' with Young.

I've been rollin' with Gibbs since he was rockin' those old tapes with California Pudd and Skee. He's not the kinda cat that should be some sidekick. He looked wild out of place followin' Young around while waitin' to be "put on". He's not the kinda artist that should be signed under another artist. CTE isn't an official imprint anyway, so there was no way that Young was gonna do much for his career. That was just a bad fit from the jump.

Gibbs is a dope artist, and he's got lot of support out there. He doesn't need another artist to get his music poppin'. So it sucks to see him talkin' about provin' himself to Young and all that. Learn from that situation and move on. Who gives a fukk about what Jeezy thinks? Build from this point and set your career off. All those grudges will limit his shyt if he just doesn't let that go.

He really hasn't done anything different than what he's always done.

most of all dudes he's signed had a buzz, and XXL features... Roccett and 211 joined up when the whole ATL-LA connection was first starting up.

but you know,Sun dont shine if son dont shine..

If you think about it, not signing any paperwork with CTE was one of the best moves Gibbs has made career wise.

He had nothing to lose and everything to gain by riding the Jeezy co-sign. CTE isn't even a real imprint. No one is financially invested in any of the acts - not even Jeezy - that's why you never see any releases, just mixtapes.

I've been fukking with Gibbs music since he was with Skee and I've long come to the conclusion that his career has peaked. He doesn't know how to move within the industry.

GIBBS ain't did shyt since he was 'dropped' from cte. nikkas in the hood didn't fukk with him before CTE, and haven't fukked with him SINCE CTE. Talk all the shyt you want about jeezy, but you nikkas need to realize gibbs ain't NEVER been poppin in the streets til young put him on them mixtapes

After spending time in Young Jeezy's CTE label, Freddie Gibbs has moved on. The two parties announced a parting of ways recently and Gibbs also spoke about his exit from Jeezy's camp. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Gibbs explained that the move was one he had to make and that it was "a good decision" for him and his family.
"It was a mutual decision," he explained, before adding that there wasn't just one reason for him leaving.
"It was a number of things but at the end of the day, it was a good decision for myself and my family. It was a move that I had to make personally and business-wise."
Later, he added that he and Jeezy "just move in different ways."
"We just move in different ways so it's best that he move in his way and it's best that I move in my way."
When asked if he'd be releasing any Jeezy diss records, Gibbs said he wouldn't start a beef.
"As long don't nobody diss me, ain't no diss records coming," he clarified. "As long as I ain't disrespected or I don't feel disrespected then it's all good."
Gibbs also explained that he has a new deal coming soon.
"I've got a new deal in the works so everything's smooth. Everything's good...I'm not one of them guys to sit back and be bitter. This don't define me. This is a move that I gotta to make in my career. Players get traded all the time and go to different teams and win championships."

I don't understand blaming Jeezy. Another thing I hate with HipHop, blame, blame, blame, blame.

The bottom line is you get a platform and more recognition being on tracks with Jeezy. All you have to do is work hard and stay busy building your own buzz. If the people really care and rock with you and you making songs that can take off then you good. If not you not.

Can't blame another man because the people ain't caring enough to pay for your music or to book you for shows all over.

I've watched indies who have had less, strive and be able to live off this music for a decade. No big names, no big singles, just a dedicated fanbase who buys stuff. Tickets to shows and albums. No need to give music away for free or do a gang of mixtapes, just real fans who invest. Sheeeit these cats ain't even get a quarter of the looks Gibbs got in magazines and major websites. No complaining or blaming anyone else, just hard ass work and grind. Constant touring. There is no way to replace hard, uncomfortable work.

If you comfortable in the studio, smoking weed and making music you not working hard enough. Bottom line.
