And that’s the point, if you only seen like 5 games of 40 he played… it’s not enough

he’s still well over .500 as a starter and top 3 in practically every metric bottom 3rd in turnovers.

he made a 6th option in Jennings a weapon thats not true. When let’s be clear the weapons was really supposed to be Kittles, CMC and Deebo. Hell I think it’s fair to say he made BA a weapon 2 years ago as that really wasn’t someone that thrived with JG. So thats 2 weapons not to mention revitalized Kittle who up until 2 years ago people was saying fell off and wasn’t a top 5 TE but in the last few years they saying top 2 again (last year saying was the best TE in the game over Kelcie)

Lastly, that Eagle playoff game is really all I needed to say to even dispute your take. Cuz every “weapon” was in that game but if and if it was really on them, then they should’ve easily been able to get to thr SB, but they didn’t. So that claim has been proven as false

We really don't need Brock to be 'the guy'. People are going by narratives. Even with the down year last year (which wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be) he has played well enough to get an extension and quite frankly it makes less sense to dump him. He is a solid QB the real issue is the 49ers not investing heavily enough in the trenches.

I've always thought Kyle likes to live vicariously through his QB and wants all the credit. Once/if they pay Purdy then the power dynamic shifts a little bit. I could actually see them moving on from him.

i actually think theyre smarter than that though, unfortunately. giving purdy that money with the money that some of these other QBs have been paid this offseason is NASTY work. the fact that josh took 55 a year shows that the QB market is officially on the decline and those watson/lawrence type contracts might be a thing of the past.

So there’s still that too. Again the team in its entirety was mid. Brock aint dropping passes or getting silly penalties eliminating plays and then missing FG. Like that game where Moody legit missed 4 FGs one being the game wining kick.

Does Brock need to play better? Sure, but there are guys that made 90% more money than him there played well below what was expected. A few of them barely attempted to show up
