A new game console gets at least 10 years of support. If its $1000, that's $100/year. Meanwhile a $1200 smartphone barely lasts 1 year. As long as the hardware is good, as long as the exclusives are good, I'm more than willing to pay $1000.

The OG gamer is what built the gaming industry starting from the 90s. Your favorite games was built a by an OG fanbase.
