Damn, these companies too greedy to pay a livin' wage? Yup!

Damn! fukk your small business if it can't afford to pay a living wage? Yup!

They want to be in the CEO position that exploit the workers and work them to death. IF the CEO and shareholders took a 25% decrease, the quality of living in America will increase a lot.

I moved up later in life, actually had to go back but I always tell people

The best job to get when you don’t have an education is serving tables

Easy to move up

And at a good restaurant you can bank

I’ve made close to 75k a year doing it

50 on the low end

When I got laid off from my job as a manager

I didn’t think twice about doing anything else but that

Good now though

Still pondering school
Worked at a fine dining spot that gave tips and hourly. I would make easily 700$ working 3 days when I came home for the weekend. I always knew if I worked there full time I would make decent money :ehh:

when I say I'm for wage/livable wage increases, I mean across the board.

nearly everybody is underpaid and overworked.

Yup, like Obamacare the only way this shyt works is everyone has to go all in.

When you let cacs control the narrative its suddenly a problem or something unattainable.

But we got a trillion dollar defense budget that folk conveniently forget about...you'd be shocked at how much the military wastes on a simple box of nuts and bolts :francis:

I haven’t worked in retail since I was 20 and I’m 32 now. :wow:

Honestly my memories of low wage work are actually pretty good because I was so young and kicking it at work with people my same age. Spent my wages on video games and clothes since I didn’t have to worry about paying rent.

I honestly would probably have to off myself if I was trapped there at my age. :mjcry:

I remember working at Walmart, clocking in 3-6 minutes late after lunch and then sleeping for another hour inside the trailer truck.

Manager asked where I was and I told them I was looking for a specific item in the trailer because it wasn't on the shelves or warehouse.

When they told me to collect carts, I'd go to the nearby gas station, cop a tall can and chill in my car.

I remember sorting through trash and recycling by hand for minimum wage.

I remember working my ass off at Target and getting a $0.06 raise at the end of the year.

Countless other shytty jobs.

I feel for people who still doing that. The single moms working two low-paying jobs just to get by. 16+ hours a day, every day
Target ain't shyt..... They cut back on hours after giving raises....Had to get out of there....

I like to joke and goof around in TLR mainly because of the BS I had to deal with in life. I'm certain other folks have had it much worse than me. It's why I always try to be humble in life and follow the golden rule, even with cacs to a certain extent.

I agree i was just making a joke about it....

Although I think the Seattle experiment has alot of other variables that should be considered. For example, Seattle has always been a wealthy, high wage city. In addition, Im pretty sure a burger at Mcds in Alabama is considerably lower than one in Seattle. Also, Seattle is just one city...If ALL McDonalds were required to raise their wages nationwide, do you think that the same prices/results from the Seattle experiment would remain constant?
