When do you graduate... Also why are you still in school at 25?
Do you go to a university where you are living on campus and shyt, or do you take night/online classes?

Bruh I feel so uncomfortable cause I transferred to a new school and I'm living in the young people area, cause the upperclassmen apartments were filled up. My roomates and neighbors are gonna be white kids like 18-20
:sadcam:
im 24 and starting school in Sept...but I turn 25 in sept :lupe:

Got out the Navy and procrastinated going back to school. Gonna be living in school off campus townhouses but the age 21+ . Only taking 3 classes right now..will take 4 starting Winter quarter.

Graduated 22 (5-year program with time for three 6-month work placements included) with BA in International Relations (Poly Sci/Marketing/Business) never going back to school. MBA is not worth it - Costs 120-250k and only useful when you are in the C-suite. So maybe once I become a VP level I will just do it part-time only if the company pays for it upfront. But never mention MBA on your resume unless it explicitly states REQUIRED (not "preferred"). I have a friend who got one at the age of 32 and he makes 20k less than I do, same damn field almost same position. Believe it, it works against you unless you are at least 50 years old. You do not want to seem over-qualified and exclude yourself from opportunities.

Also unless you are going to school for a good field you are interested in with a good 10 year outlook if you haven't already enrolled for your BA/BS - Do not bother. Seen way too many classmates fall by the waste side, but many are CACs that get their parents to pay the loan bill - Yet they are still not doing shyt with their lives so there's that...They had useless majors like communications, sociology, english, art history and some other crap.

Some of the worst advice I received (mainly from Black folk) is to go get a Master's right after your Bachelor's. NO ONE WILL HIRE YOU if you are 25-26 with no real work experience. It doesn't matter how many degrees you have. You will get locked out and fukked with no way to pay your loans back. That dude that just killed himself and his 2 kids mentioned on the other thread had a Doctorate's.

School is a Business. Use it to your advantage but do not take more than you need. This isn't the 80's anymore. More education isn't necessarily better in all circumstances.

Tag me if you want advice regarding your particular situation. I've seen all kinds of shyt. I know what the job outlook is for all industries in most regions of the U.S. For example don't get into law unless it's IP or Commercial/Business/Real Estate. All other types of Law there is way too much competition right now for gigs. And it's impossible to setup your own lucrative practice without good references you won't be able to get the big boy clients (not talking fortune 500 but below that) to keep your lights on.
Got advice for a marketing major :lupe:

29 and a year away from a bachelors in Psychology and Media Arts

Reason why i'm so late is I thought i could make bank without a degree, but got tired of working shyt end jobs and went back to school at 24.
In many ways that's better having work experience than some 22 year old who doesn't know shyt about working in an office

Congrats on going back to school.... So you pretty much starting at square 1?
You had no prior college credits before now? :ohhh:

What are you going to school for?
Nah, I had two years worth of credits, but due to some financial obligations that I didn't meet my old school won't release my transcripts. :rudy: fukk it though. So I'm kinda starting over, but really I just wanted to get back into school by any means. I'm gonna get the situation with my old school figured out and see what I can apply to my current education.

Good thread.

BA at 23
MSEd at 28

Last semester in grad school my advisor told me that I had prerequisites that were unfulfilled :francis: so in addition to the three classes I had to three clep exams (I strongly suggest anyone still in undergrad to look into taking CLEP or Dantes exams for credits @O Fenômeno @Illuminatos @Prynce @Luca-Brazi @LezJepzin it saved me), finish my thesis, and work in a high school full time :sadcam:

It was worth it. Now I have maximum salary (in teaching, the more credits you have the higher your pay). With the new contract, gonna hit 90k in two years :blessed:

Man I'm 23 about to be finishing my last semester of my Junior year...... Just found out my roommate is a sophomore white boy, I think this kid like 19 or 20..

This is depressing.... :francis:

How many Coli Brehs still in college? How old are you, what you studying, and if you are older why are you still in school?

Let's talk. :blessed:
Very im in the same boat. I make 25 in December and was hoping to graduate next fall but my advisor told me I'm missing a couple of electives so I won't graduate till May 2017. I hate it but I'm just doing my best to pull thru because in the long run I'm hoping it won't be a big deal.
