A bill such as the heroes act would require a filler buster proof 60 vote majority.

The “we got to control the senate too” is true & false at the same time depending how to interpret it.

It doesn’t give “we can do whatever the fukk we want” power but now a dem is a majority leader so we can control how legislation is prioritized, debated, and voted on so people go on record. This is even debatable because Schumer & mcconell have to agree upon the “rules of the senate”.

The way to pass this bill via. 51-50 vote would be through a reconciliation.

Overall, if the bill does somehow get passed as is, it would be great IMO. (Not perfect, no hazard paid is a disappointment but such is life, this bill is obviously a NET POSITIVE)

Ample state money in which the vast majority of jobs losses have been public jobs.

2K stimulus checks (well 1400 but if that’s the hill you wana die on so be it).

and most importantly the unemployed’s safety net is increased in $ and length.
