Yall still hate on Magna Carts Holy Grail, but these are amongst jays best songs.

Agreed. I actually like the whole album. It's adult in the same way "Life is Good" is.

It is to "Reasonable Doubt" what "Life is Good" is to "Illmatic".

never saw this one :russ:

mchg was like a stunt publicity for his samsung deal. taking about "changing" the rule bullshyt

I always said after the black album, jay had nothing really to say on the mic no more, couple of good records here and there but not enough for a full body of work.

And kingdome come was a fail attempt to do a grown men record, the type nas managed to pull off with life is good

mchg was completly empty on the lyrical side, flow wise jay was subpar and the production went from bad to mediocre to ok

nikkas forgetting about American Gangster i see :francis:

BP3, KC, Volume 3, I don't see how ppl can rank MCHG underneath those.

Would y'all really rather listen to snoopy track or that lenny kravitz shyt more than this? Or that bootleg Chris Brown on KC? Let's be reality :stopitslime:
:dwillhuh: volume 3?

His rapping on volume 3 is amazing it might actually be his peak in terms of rapping. I dont think its a great album and there are definitely some weak tracks though :yeshrug:

Life is Good had amazing rhyming and had great beats.
MCHG had Jay's worst rhyming and terrible beats for the most part.
The beats are my speed personally so I disagree, and I think the rhyming reflects where he's at. Both are at a point where they aren't about rhyming acrobatics so i'm cool with it.

originally alotta cuts on the album lagged back in 2013 but relistening to it this year it all went down smooth. Both albums have a laid back vibe. MCHG sounds like RD that got older and richer, LIG sounds like Illmatic that grew older and richer. LIG has summer on smash for the summer, MCHG has Tom Ford for the summer.:pachaha:

:obama:. This the type of non reactionary and thoughtful consideration I appreciate. My least favorite moments are frank ocean and timberlake. They aint wack but they overshadow jay. I like the rozay and Beyonce features.

Look at jay like pre and post 3 year draft ban Ali. Pre draft Ali was certainly the better athlete. Pre retirement jay had all the rap acrobatics that yall call lyricism. Post draft Ali was slower, lost a step, but that just gave him opportunities to prove his heart in the the ring, his wilyness etc. Same with post retirement jay. ESOM is one of the most amazing achievements for a 40 year old, for HOV to have by far the biggest song of his career.

nikkas in Paris as well. 2 of the greatest peaks for an old ass rapper. AG and WTT are 2 great peaks.
