Yao Ming is a 1st ballot HOFer? Ahead of Chris Webber? Really? The NBA is a f*cking joke...

His prime was comparable to the prime of any C not named Shaq.

He averaged a career double-double and almost 2 blocks a game.

He could bang on the inside, had a good midrange shot and was a good free throw shooter.

If he didn't have constant foot injuries, we'd argue he was the best center since Shaq.

Yao Ming is a hall of famer, not really sure how it can be argued that he is NOT.

Longevity? Eh, you have a small argument. But he had a good prime and was starting to abuse all the centers in the league for a short time. He shytted all over future Hall of Famer Dwight Howard as pointed out many times by @Malta

Dwight was just 21/22 years old back then playing against 7'5 310 lb center with NBA and international experience under his belt. I'd take 2010-2011 Dwight over Yao though

Yeah you take him because you never saw Yao at his full potential. Yao was about to go on a dominant run for 5+ years if his body would hold up, just never did. I think Yao was about 26-27 when he was about to seriously take over the reigns at Center as Shaq was past his prime.

First off, here are his career stats after 9 years in the NBA.

Points 9,247 (19.0 ppg)
Rebounds 4,494 (9.2 rpg)
Blocks 920 (1.9 bpg)

Damn near double-double.

Second, it is the Basketball Hall of Fame. NOT the NBA Hall of Fame. EVERYTHING counts. High School. College. International. Professional (from any country). Everything.

Here are Yao's achievements.

like who?
Off the top of my head
John Calipari
Phil Knight
are pretty recent and never worked in the NBA. And I know a bunch of European dudes that you probably never heard of, are in it.

Don't hate on Yao, hate on the system if you really don't like it.
