Exactly what I'm going through now. Finally cut the ties for good yesterday. 
Funny thing is, I woke up this morning and took a run. I felt "free". All the times I was dealing with him, I felt sad and couldn't motivate myself to exercise. I didn't realize how much the situation was zapping my energy.
