i know all of ghat already breh, it just doesn't change the fact that nike wasn't trying to make them into collectors item. it just doesnt.

a nike shoe that nike makes with the intention of it becoming a collectors item is when they explicitly state how many were made (ie. stating that there were only 25 pairs of the pigeon dunk made) or 1 for 1 shoes.

limited edition is a vague term anyway. nike could release a shoe that has 1500 pairs made and call it limited edition because theyre not going to reup when it sells out...and i get your point about the lebrons and jprdans but its not that solid because most of the shoes that come from those lines can be considered limited edition.

bpttom line, nike was jerking kanye.

Stating the intended number is NOT the only way to release a collector's item breh.

The bottom line is they always planned on a limited release. They aren't releasing a small number because they want them to fail...that's the point I was refuting.

ok that's kool, but it wasn't me who said they wanted the shoe to fail, i was saying they just wanted to get rid of them and kanye :yeshrug:

the ricardo tisci (givenchy) nike collab is lookin like a fail....i mean it'll sell out cuz itll be wild limited ...but nike tryna get some revenge back on kanye by releasing some wack ass air forces with an extended 8 inch flap that goes up to your knee is a bullshyt move, and will prove his overall influence/worth to the game...kanye designed gems in the yeezys, and these euro designers aint shyt

I dunno about doing Kanye dirty. Dude thought he deserved more out of his deal than Nike was "giving" him. But you can't expect to muscle your way (unsuccessfully) in the fashion world and think people are gonna respect that shyt. HIs deal is the same kinda shyt that any popular person would get if they hooked up with a big company to do a shoe/clothing deal. He got the use of Nike designers, Nike marketing, Nike distribution and Nike manufacturing to put this shoe together. what else did he really want? If you look at the Yeeyzs, they employ ALOT of current Nike design trends, the kinda shyt you've seen in LeBrons in particular, so it wasn't like he sketched it out, bought samples, constructed a model and brought it in to the people in Beaverton.

Dude didn't have that much leverage besides his celebrity

When Pharrell/Nigo first started out with Ice Cream/BBC in 2003, Pharrell was disappointed with the quality that Reebok was pushing out and he sued them for $4 million. He/Nigo were doing all of the samples/designs and all reebok had to do was manufacture/distribute it. Standard version of a licensing deal. Eventually they came to an agreement and he dropped the suit but he told Reebok to fukk off and took his business elsewhere. The only thing Reebok got right were the OG Ice Cream sneakers, which people were going nuts for (like they are for the Yeezys)

Pharrell is in control of his brand and can do whatever for it. Kanye is just getting these limited deals so when he's asking for royalties and all kinds of other shyt, these companies are like :usure::bryan::beli: because them Dame Dash tactics aren't gonna work in 2014.

fukk Pharrel and Homes who had the nerve to think ordinary nikkas were gonna drop $600 dollars for BBC T-Shirts. I see that shyt in Jimmy Jazz now for $20 a T-Shirt.

Yeah the little bit, even though he designed the product. He lost:

Kanye threw a fit, left Nike, signed to Adidas, then Nike turned around and still sold HIS creation, and to rub salt in the wound they collaborated with the creator of Givenchy.

They shytted that nikka.

And u find the way that played out to be cool and fascinating, huh ?

these are doper than the latest lebrons, every durant released, and arguably the foams.

These are some tight ass sneakers, every angle.

NIKE should be reminded of this at every possible juncture....

perhaps even trolled with constant images of the YEEZY 2

that's because bbc isn't made to the same standard/quality as it once was...they use different manufacturers now. im pretty its run by rocnation or rocawear now, something like that im not 100%

what different does it make who runs it now, it was a cotton t-shirt that was being sold for hundreds of dollars.
