This is the thing I can't stand and I see it from some of the responses in here. Some of yall want to try and discredit the fact that immigrants that come over here with generally have a better work ethic and do certain things to be successful that African Americans in this country don't. The fact of the matter is many just don't do what is necessary. To try and make it seem like African Americans have these disadvantages against them preventing them from getting their sh*t together is nonsense. Getting your act together is a personal thing. Are there laws and practices in place and that systemically aimed to keep blacks from progressing? Absolutely. This does not change the fact that immigrants who come over here have a different mindset tends to make them more successful. It's not that they don't recognize the barriers but that doesn't make them throw in the towel. In fact, they come here with the immigrant family mindset that if we stick together and invest in each other, as a family we'll make it. I've never hear any immigrant come over to this country and say oh the education system this or the education system that is why I can't get anywhere. Why? It's not that isn't broken, it's just that when you have the attitude to succeed no matter what, none of that matters. This is what's lacking among AA youths today.

Immigrants get a lot more opportunities for work than any american, black, white, whatever...because they are willing to work for way cheaper and work a lot more hours than the average american...
For those who come here illegally, will you can pretty much have them work for damn near free, what are they going to do, leave? Tell on you for breaking some labor laws, they'll be arrested for even trying..
For those who come here on an H1B, will you can pretty much have them work for damn near free, otherwise they lose their visa and are back to wherever they came from.
As a manager...I've seen managers tell an Indian H1B dude straight out "I need you to work 16 hours a day until this project is complete. If you can't do that let me know and I will bring over someone who will."
The greatest misconception in the world of business...corporate america...anything...is that foreigners are so much smarter than americans...they are not...I work as a virtualization engineering manager and have been interviewing people for the last 2 years and hands down the least smart and least technical people I interview are foreigners...they consistently show a lack of ability to think logically and troubleshoot a problem...If I ask a foreign guy what a Vmotion is, he can read me the verbatim VMware definition...if I ask him how to set up a network for Vmotion he can't even come close to getting the answer right...
And when dealing with foreigners, at some point in the interview, they will mention how little they will work for...man that shyt is embarrassing...jobs in my group start in the high 70's and some indian is like "i will do it for 52k"...i don't even want a guy who values his work at 52k on my team
