He asked men and women.

A single woman would have an easier time ascending in a company than her single male counterpart is my point.
They don’t. Single men, single women and married women are several levels below married men on the wage scale… yet there is little to no separation between the bottom three

If you read it, it explains all that. They conclude it’s likely because the other person helps with the job search. And also because the married man has more to work for than himself. Plus society thinking married men are more stable.

But yes. The world doesn’t change that fast. And maybe the next gen won’t be like this. But in this gen, the old gen is still owning the companies and making the rules. And most of them are still married. Most owners, most ceos, most mid level bosses.
What part of that is the company’s formal evaluation process?

“James revenue generation isn’t top tier but he got married last year so director of sales it is”

You keep mentioning factors but nothing where the company makes that a formal check box.

I don’t know what you want me to say.

Y’all can make believe the answer from what you see personal at 1-3 companies and 3 bosses….

Or we can listen to multiple studies from scientists with data who clearly show in every way possible, that you will get more as a married man than any other combination of gender and status

I’ll go with the dudes doing the studies and the history of all of the world. People see married men as more stable and harder workers. Period. Until I see some data that says otherwise, y’all just talking

And I’m not even married. I don’t have a dog in this fight. I simply looked up the data instead of talking bout the 2 single guys who got promoted last year

Let me put it easier for you. You know white men make more than any other demographic right? And women make less than men right? And black people make worse than white people.

But does any company have a formal checkbox that says shyt on black people and women? Of course not. But if you looked at the data, it clearly shows they ain’t fukking with us. Yea we know some women who are promoted, but ask any woman if they feel on equal footing with men. Then look at the data. Does it say “we don’t fukk with women like that” on a checkbox? Nah. But clearly they get shorted

Use your brain

Use your brain. Did anyone say that being black or a woman will not get you promoted.

The OP didn’t make a distinction. In fact, he specifically mentioned Stacy Abrams. I still don’t know if I agree with that idea for men either, but most of friends are married so I don’t have much experience with that.
He quoted someone who mentioned Stacy Abrams, a politician. Politicians will have an extremely hard time if single regardless of gender.

Yes it has. My last three managers were all married or divorced. After 10 years, they finally offering me, the guy who been there the longest, the job. And with a perfect track record, HR already on my boss back like “are you sure?”

Realize women also work in HR and have influence on hiring. They also see married men as better candidates.

But that’s just me. Unless everyone who ever was promoted over you was a single man, you’ve also experienced it. Tell us what the marriage status is of your chain of command

a lot of yall don't read and just give personal opinions so ima let you figure it out for yourself lol
Nothing to figure out lol. I know what I'm talking about. You chose to make a statement about "serious business" to double down on your anecdotal experience. So when you're ready to show the slew of bachelors running the largest American corporations I'll be around to see if my personal opinion is bullshyt.

You see this a lot on the Coli lately. A thread like this would never get this far without someone posting actual facts and numbers.

But now all these people do is talk about what they seen in their limited world view. I’m glad 4 women got promoted at your one company in the city but the data shows that’s not even close to the norm at the other 1500000 companies

The marital wage premium
The chart below shows the 2016 income of employed men and women with at least a high school diploma, by marital status. Single men, single women, and married women all earn about the same over their careers, but married men earn significantly more than all three groups, especially by middle age.

People who tend to get married already in financially better positions, and this also includes getting certain govt benefits. But solely from the given chart, we can't talk about promotions.
