Yes, hip-hop has contributed to it, but you have to look at it this way where are the parents? They are the ones who should be raising the children. When I was a child, there was this thing called the village. You have to have a great support system and that's how I turned into the wonderful man I am today
I see nobody blames video games all that much for school shootings like they did back in the day. Don't put this on rappers, but the parental figures themselves. In the youths mind they are going like, if my parents don't care why should I. Other than that I agree with you @Emperor_ReinScarf. Just wanted to say this before I leave for work.
P.S. before the music is released they have a parental advisory tag on the front of it. What I'm basically saying is the parents need to take responsibility. It's NOT the Rapper's job to raise YOUR kids that's yours.
