On the other hand, me-n-wifey both quit our jobs and left NYC with nothing lined up down here. It was a pretty stupid move in retrospect. Wifey was like 2 weeks away from waiting tables when she got a job offer for double what she was making in NYC I got a job a couple months later. We have been soo skraaaiigght. The stupidest move we ever made turned out to be the best one we ever made. If you have enough to live on for 1-2 years you should be straight. Companies are hiring again too. Now is a good time to make such a move. You only get one life

Unlike most blacks with poor credit and no want to own a home Im perfectly content with the home, life, and lifestyle Ive built. I cant stand moving from place to place, moved twice and decided at the age of 23 I wanted to own a home and not live from apartment to apartment.

Well, I didn't JUST quit it. But this morning,around 10:00 Eastern, I said fukk this shyt. I gave my Access badge to my boss, said this isn't for me, and calmly walked out. My boss and one of the other higher ups looked at me befuddled as hell as I exited stage left. I could faintly hear my boss saying "you don't have to do this" as I made my way towards the elevator

I was looking for other jobs for the last few weeks, so it wasn't totally out the blue, but I definitely didn't plan on leaving this job before I secured another one. Also, I had a interview for a nice financial analyst job last week and I'm waiting to hear back on that, so I wasn't jumping all the way out the window. Nevertheless, I have no idea when my next check will be and where it will be from.

I keep wanting feel remorse or like I mad an irrational decision, but I swear I feel nothing of the sort. The more time I have to analyze this decision, the more I feel that I should have been did this. It was a decent paying job in a good field, but I hated my job and hated going to work. So it's real simple, I quit that bytch. Life is really that simple. We are the ones who complicate it.


I got on Seinfeld late because I always thought it was some white people shyt but once I gave it a shot, and saw that nikka George, I fell in love (no homo) One of my favorite episodes was when this fool George made a decision to do EVERYTHING the opposite of how he would usually do it. Well, shyt started popping for dude as soon as he started living like that. It's a sitcom, but that episode has a deep meaning for me. It's an ode to bucking the status quo and a reminder of how we can be so scared of the unknown.

Crazy thing is, not even 2 full hours after I quit, I had a call about a compliance analyst job paying $30 an hour. Got a phone interview this week. I also got two emails about jobs. One for a pricing analyst, for which I setup a phone interview for this week. The other one is for some fraud company. I'm sure they will set something up with me. Everyone has different circumstances which plays a part in their decision making, but my advice is to live your life, go with what you feel, and don't worry too much about what's next. Life has a funny way of working itself out. Feel me

I quit an old job once back in 2012 without having one lined up (did put in 2 weeks though). Between people getting fired over missing money (worked at an armored company), the company as a whole underestimating the workload from a "new" customer, skyrocketing hours and simply being underappreciated, I was becoming miserable. By September of that year, I got pissed off for the last time one morning and just said fukk it.
It took me almost a year to get a full-time job (worked a couple of temp jobs along the way). I fortunately had money saved up so I wasn't hurting big time but money does drain. Plus the interview process was irritating as I kept getting the run around too many times. Scored my current job after 5 months at the other full-time by November 2013. I don't get paid as much as I would like and the job's kinda far (work at a big company through another - specializing in printing services) but I originally genuinely enjoyed coming to work. The first full year was cool despite some people leaving. Last year at times sucked with more work but in the end, it could've been worse. This year started the same but the last couple of months have been on some straight bullshyt. I'm really getting that miserable feeling again and need to get out cause the shyt's only gonna get worse when your employer looks at the almighty dollar rather than holding people accountable for bad business.

Much respect to OP for doing what he feels is best and hope for nothing but success in the future breh.

People are way too fearful of the unknown. So what there is nothing else lined up? Doesn't mean you cant find something short term to hold you over. Wait tables, deliver pizza, run errands, cut grass, etc. It's not a forever thing. If a job is sucking out your soul, LEAVE!! But only if you have a regular ass life. If you have to pay the cleaning staff and groundskeepers, then don't do that.

Sure, but why when Im lazy enough to get a fat paycheck sitting on my ass telling others what to do all day and not have to actually hunt business? Just quit my job today. Went to the bank for a start up loan to get my business started and they approved . I was already making more with that then my main job so today I just told them
