I know it's a lot of posturing and machismo in here but I will keep it real myself.
There was one time where a chick pumped and dumped me and I was hurt. She was a 8/10 (cute face, in shape, fat behind), and at the time I was used to only dealing with 6's and maybe the occasional 7. She was clearly a notch above what I felt I had regular access to. She was real cool, too. However, I learned after the fact that she was very promiscuous and I was just a notch on her hit list.
We smashed a couple times and I definitely wanted to hit it more. However, it was not meant to be and I was definitely shaken after realizing that was the case. Now, a few days later, I was just happy to get the bunz and moved on. But when you either struggle to pull a woman of that same attractiveness, or you just settle for what you can get at the time, you do find yourself fiending for that old flame. It's not necessarily feelings for her, it's more knowing that it will be highly difficult to pull someone of her equivalent.

This type of stuff does happen. Most guys I know experienced it at least once.

Women, in general, use this viewpoint to save face after being deemed unfit for further companionship or growth in a relationship (if there was one in the first place).
I.E. Man and woman fukk, shes wide the fukk open, hes going through the motions. Whenever she catches wind that things aren't going to go as expected and it falls apart, thats when the mindset the OP explained sets in.
To take it even further, when this happens MULTIPLE TIMES to the same woman - she becomes jaded and will attempt to BEAT the man to the punch if she feels its going to end the same way as before.
I've been best friends with a woman like this in the past. She would always phrase situations as if she were the man,
"I just wanted some dikk, fukk that nikka"
"We dont love these ho's" (referring to guys)
Yet, every few weeks she and I would talk in depth about things and she'd confide in me her feelings regarding her self worth because of a lack of guys who took her serious. She would be bawling by the end of the conversation. So insecure.
In my personal experience, women like this are irreparably broken and should be avoided at all costs other than a pump and dump.

Edit - Also, these women ruin the good men in turn because they cant see past their jaded ways and believe that even the man who genuinely shows interest is the same guy as the player who broke her heart over and over.
This dynamic also applies to guys. Players and Hoes are two sides of the same coin. Heart broken, jaded individuals who go on wrecking other peoples hearts in the process of figuring themselves out.

If you've never been impacted by a chick pumping and dumping you, then great.
But guys in here are saying it doesn't happen at all to any man, when I know several instances of men at least being slightly disappointed that they aren't going to get the bunz from a bad chick anymore.

Women are raised and socialized to want stability, love and companionship out of relationships. Men are socialized to score a large body count and pump and dump. I'm reserved and I couldn't imagine myself getting intimate with people I don't know, but I know that women and men alike love having sex in general.

Most people with self respect and common sense are like that in general don't let anybody convince you otherwise as a man I don't do casual at all.

My problem isn't even hoes and players. Different folks have different sex needs, so as long as they practice safe sex, who am I to judge
The issue is being dishonest about intentions and playing games. For example, taking too long to text back so they don't seem 'thirsty', being annoyed at something without expressing their feelings and especially concealing the fact that they're just into casual sex - we would both waste our times. I like honesty, I'm a simple person, but it seems like a lot of people wanna play cool nowadays
