Can you imagine if Ron DeSantis said this? :damn:

That selective outrage depending on party is crazy :mjlol:

Thread would be 3 pages by now.

But it's a Democrat so....

These politicians gotta be built in a lab or something...it's not only that it's racist what she said, it's just plain confusing :mindblown: all that Botox must be seeping into her brain to even think of that sentence :gucci:

Smart people don’t go into politics like they used to.

People criticizing liberal art degrees don’t understand the necessity of that they can have.

As bad as that comment is, she was actually trying to advocate for expanding tech opportunities to undeserved communities. That won't matter in public opinion but it should at least be noted.
But just a terrible way to say that :snoop:

What do you get? :jbhmm:

a lot of black households don't have computers in them, they have phones or tablets but laptops and PC's make a world of difference.

theres still a digital divide in this country, when it comes to broadband access and access to computers/laptops.

60,000 NYC K-12 kids DO NOT have devices, the single most necessary tool to learn & be in school remotely.

What is that national digital divide number?

How does the wealthiest country on the planet not have a solution?

44% of NYC residents that live in poverty lack broadband access.

26% of all NYC residents lack broadband access.

When we talk about educational equity & equity at large, we need to be frank about the digital divide that exists both in NY & nationally. Remote learning challenges will likely continue in New York

NYC’s public libraries have more than 18,500 Internet-enabled devices to lend. But more than 777,000 New York City households lack a laptop or desktop computer at home.

City leaders should further enlist public libraries to help close the digital divide: Branches to Recovery: Tapping the Power of NYC’s Public Libraries to Rebuild a More Equitable City | Center for an Urban Future (CUF)

Nearly 260K households in our city are without a computer. This digital divide among residents exacerbates inequities in work and education. I’m excited that through our Chi Device Donation campaign, we have reached 600 device donations and commitments! Home

There’s a difference between not having a computer at home and not knowing what one is.

You would be the one in here defending her comments.
