It's funny to me, you've got weirdos worried about a great reset, but I think a different one has happened that they never thought would occur. That being people are reevaluating their personal lives and the things that held weight before, don't mean shyt to them any longer. I'm getting older and it's funny looking back at the things that meant something to me. Spent a small fortune on fitted hats when I was younger. Nowadays I don't even wear hats, other than skullys in the winter. Dress code is Champion sweat shirts and Levis. I have no "drip", and couldn't care less. That happens with age.

I don't miss the office, I don't miss the politics, I don't miss paying that parking lease, etc.. It snowed last night through this morning, and I don't miss having to get up earlier to clean off the car, hitting the sidewalk and my neighbor's sidewalk before going to the office. I don't miss spending money for lunch, and I'm saving more money since working from home. I don't miss ironing clothes for the week. I don't miss traffic, walking in the rain or snow to the garage, the fiends and homeless asking for money, etc. I don't hate my coworkers but I don't miss them either.

I used to be a traditionalist but after two years of this, I think I am done with it(going back in full-time to work in-person). I only head into the office to use work resources for my business but most of the time people are chill and don't give me a hard time.

What I don't miss are the random pop-ins while I am working on a task or parties with awkward silences.

I am fine with 2 days on-site and 3 days remote for the rest of my career.

My workflow or productivity hasn't been detered or disrupted in the slightest, so I am not sure why the Old Guard is pushing this narrative outside of them losing big money on underutilized office spaces.

This is propaganda from the commercial real estate industry....they mad companies arent leasing or buying them expensive ass offices anymore

Most jobs dont require the "networking" some of you are trumpeting. And the social interactions are surface level and fake anyway.

I can learn from online tutorials, I dont need some know it all old head who thinks their way is the only way

I think they’re right for newbies to a field. You can sometimes get creative with zoom and teams video but there’s nothing like being able to actually shadow someone who can show you exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. There’s other things to like being able to leave work at work.

Commutes do suck. I’m someone who’s fully remote but I also come from doing 1 hour each way with bumper to bumper traffic.

If you dont like working from home you need to seriously take a look at your house. It’s probably boring to be in because you were never there. I transformed my home office into basically an executive suite. I got records, memorabilia, TV and games, food and drink, a couch, the whole 9 in here.

You cant just put a desk next to your bed and face a wall all day

From what I've observed throughout da pandemic, it's unbearable for many to be at home and A LOT of people view their homes as prisons. Also, a lot of people associate their self worth or value with their chosen professions/occupations.

they right in one aspect, these college kids don't know how to maneuver around the different personalities you would meet in a office before the world ended because they only see them on Teams/Zoom now
I've had to step in as mentor a few because their bosses lose patience real quick if the newbies don't pick it up quickly
If they were in the office around me and other old heads that have fought and put out hundreds of fires we would teach them what to look for and what she likes vs what he likes, etc.
For example if we are all in the same meeting room and one of the newbies start messing up, I would step in and kill it before it went to far.
I've been on these Teams calls and some one starts going down the wrong path and all I can do is :snoop:
In the office I could pull them aside and tell them "watch out for that dude":francis:
"Yeah she's a bytch but here's what you got to do to keep off her radar":beli:
Now you got to schedule a one hour Teams meeting with your team to do that when before you could just randomly call dude over to your office or desk and prep him.

They want you to be miserable so you spend money on stuff to make yourself happy. To spend money you gotta work.

Thry want you to be out of shape so you absolutely need insurance for doctor visits. Gotta work to have insurance

And they want you to always be buying a new vehicle to drivr there, which requires money
