I like that he wasn't scared out there. Geno was gon push the ball down the field regardless. I like the confidence and gunslinger mentality.

Sure he's got lots of room to improve but as already stated, he was a rookie playing with no weapons. A lotta rookie QB's make a lotta rookie mistakes. That 2012 shyt was an anomaly.

I think he has potential. He didn't run much in college which had me questioning if he was truly black but he's shown he's got wheels and he can make all the throws. The rest is on how hard he works and what they put around him. That's what's impossible to judge and anybody's "prediction" is just as good as the next man's in that regard. :yeshrug:

Thoughts on Geno..

1. Pure pocket passer, when the the pocket breaks down dude would get his Favre on and just sling it.

2. By week 9 Geno said fukk it, and would use his legs to make plays(That was coaching).

I was not a fan of Geno going to the Jets under Rex. But I think Rex finally got a OC he can trust with Mornhinweg. Get Geno some actual weapons I think he has the tools to ball..

Jets still suck tho.. :beli:

Warren Moon is black and didn't have wheels. Leftwich didn't run and wasn't faster either.

Moon could run. He just didn't enter the league til he was 28. He used to run in Canada though. But he was such a gifted passer he didn't have to lean on his athleticism as much.

That's funny because I remember mentining Leftwich too, who you apparently ignored. I guess you have no counterargument for the fact he was a black statue that couldn't run. Anyway, Moon was also a statuesque passer and ran about as much as pocket passers. Several pocket passers ran for more yards than he did. Leftwich didn't run. Jamarcus didn't run. Campbell can't really run either. There's also Garrard. These guys didn't run because they weren't very good at it. Being able to run or running is not a prerequisite to being an AA QB. So saying "I don't know if he's black" because he can't run is an ignorant statement.

Garrard could run. :comeon:

Leftwhich was fat af. :comeon:

JaMarcus Russell has a smiley called "jawalrus" :heh:

Campbell simply isn't good. And he's probably the least athletic of black QB's. :yeshrug:

So you've named a fat QB and the worst athlete of all (who is still "pretty" athletic anyway) as the premise for your point?

I never said anything about prerequisites. Word never appeared in any post of mine in this thread. But for every "non athletic" black QB you can name I can name 10 or 20 who were so would you like to play a percentage game?

Fall back, son. Steve Young and Mark Brunell could scramble but it doesn't change the fact that the majority of white QB's aren't a threat outside the pocket.

Garrard played from the pocket and there are pocket passers today who run better than he does. :comeon:

Leftwhich was fat af. :comeon:

Leftwich was the same size as Big Ben but nothing like Ben in terms of mobility. He was a statuesque pocket passer. :comeon:

JaMarcus Russell has a smiley called "jawalrus" :heh:

Jamarcus was always a pocket passer. Like Leftwich his game was based on being a 6'5 pocket passer with a strrong arm. :comeon:

Campbell simply isn't good. And he's probably the least athletic of black QB's. :yeshrug:

Campbell is similar to Garrard and Leftwich. He's better than Jamarcus. None of these guys are especially athletic but they're still black. Do you get it now? :comeon:

I listened about five black QBs who couldn't run. That's it. All of these guys were pocket passers throughout their professional careers. You say Leftwich is "fat" but he was about the same height and weight as Big Ben and Ben is/was incredibly mobile. So either Leftwich wasn't fat or his fat isn't an excuse. You say Jamarcus was fat but Jamarcus wasn't always overweight and he played the same way. Clearly Jamarcus was a pocket passer no matter what. My premise is that you don't have to run or be able to run to stand as a black QB. Several NFL QBs don't run. Asserting that running makes one a "black QB"--as you did--is ignorant.

There are NFL level black QBs who had little to no running ability. Merely because Black QBs run more, whether it be because of playing style or lack of pocket coaching or cultural preference, whatever, it doesn't mean that one is less of a black QB because one doesn't run. To say that you didn't know Geno was "black" because he didn't run is ignorant. Moon and Leftwich were both still black, even if they threw from the pocket, and they were no more and no less black because they didn't run. Any QB can run. Locker and Tannehill are both better runners than all of the aforementioned black QBs. Are they not white? :comeon:
