That was just Bass music...that got dropped quick

Unless u trying to say Organized Noize/Dungeon Fam was doin that shyt...and that would be incorrect buddy
Miami Bass and Memphis Crunk were important pillars of Atlanta’s early success in Hip-Hop though.
And u limiting Atlanta music to just hip hop shows u do know what you're talking about bruh
Educate the thread because from my knowledge, the main contributions the City of Atlanta alone has given to Music have been strictly Hip-Hop for the past 30 yrs.. and prior to that it was gospel music I would enjoy links to

shoutout to Gladys Knight and Mary Lou Williams though

The fact that you don't know what R&B has come out of Atlanta is hilarious:dead:

Oh and go ahead and find the 1st mention of the work Crunk (or even twurk) and see who said it. Memphis was doin what they called "Buck" music bruh

And do you not know one of the biggest albums of the 90s came from an ATL group :russ:

I mean if Gary gets a nod for the Jacksons then Minneapolis gotta get a nod for Prince/Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (crafted basically all of 80s/early 90s R&B and Pop)Morris Day/Mint Condition/ Alexander Oneal/Sounds of Blackness. We aint done a damn thing since the 90s though other than weird underground rappers smh
I was getting ready to say Minneapolis, for all the reasons you listed. Did you get a chance to listen to Jam and Lewis' solo album from a couple of years ago? I was upset they didn't really enlist anyone from the that camp, or even incorporate their signature sound into the songs much.

And an extra nod to Gary, Indiana. Deneice Williams is from there as well.

Monica, Keri Hilson, Xscape, Ciara, 112, Jagged Edge, The Dream, and TLC

Want me throw Usher in there to toughen up that roster? :skip:

so why did a Memphis artist bring it back? :lupe:

Lil Jon POPULARIZED the genre. It is a Memphis thing.

So Outkast suppose to carry the entire city of Atlanta’s back against these other cities with multiple genres spanning decades? :mjlol:

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik wasn’t even the best rap album in 1994

I'm not saying that at all I don't think ATL did anything musically that people weren't already doing tbh.

Funny how every once in awhile people try to bring back old Atlanta ongs out the blue like Ghost Town DJ's "My Boo" with that running man challenge or Knuck if you buck that was used for some that Juju on the beat song

Or how artist somehow reach back in tho Atlanta history to use Atlanta songs

Like Beyonce did just last year sampling Kilo Ali

or Snoop sampling Mista

or Travis Scott sampling Goodie Mob

Outkast heavily influencing Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole sampling their music

Actually lemme stop. I shouldn't argue with bozos:mjlol:
