I guess you wont be able to review anything on youtube soon.

Speaking of reviews, Classic Gaming Room will no longer be using Youtube to review games due to this:

You’ll see what Lord Karnage thinks of this soon.

There's a difference between a clip a from a convention that shows live gameplay and those full blown walkthroughs of a game that are all over youtube.

What I want to know is how these videos are getting views to begin with. What happened to just figuring a game out? Gaming is already dumbed down and filled with hand holding.. :scusthov:
this is my main issue with it. I support the game companies. They should be in control of releasing their own game content. 2-3 days jobless neckbeard losers already have full walkthroughs on youtube, get a damn life you unskilled b*stard. That should be offensive to any able bodied working male. There are room full of people wanting to watch people play league of ledgends, are you fukking kidding me? People used to fistfight over next now people are in crowds to watch and have no desire to play and compete. Its gross.

Am lost what's the exact issue
people post videos on youtube of themselves playing video games, typically walk throughs known as 'lets play's' or speed runs.

people watch them

they generate ad revenue from youtube for doing this.

the developers and publishers of those games are upset because they think they deserve that ad revenue or a portion of it.

youtube reacts with copyright infringement language to the people who post those videos.

the people who post those videos are unhappy because they will not recieve ad money anymore.

Gang violence...
i wonder what they will do about pewdiepie...

i can understand getting rid of lets play and speed runs (as ridiculous as that would be) but journalistic activity is legally protected speech. reviews and analysis involving footage of games is totally legal in the USA. i am assuming google has been working with very beta-quality tools right now, and will be fine tuning their process so as to allow the IGNs of the world the right to continue reviewing. classic game room should meet the same criteria, but i wonder about just how much google will be willing to care about the independent reviewer.

fukk you Youtube:pacspit:

I couldn't believe this happened. Its messed up cause I'm a subscriber and watch Classic Game Room videos all the time.
why are ppl blaming youtube? why cause they are complying with copywright law? and they dont want to get sued :stopitslime:
Youtube was glad to make money off these people and at the first sign of trouble sold all these people out. Darksydephil off Youtube basically said its the music industry that started this Content ID craze.

http://techcrunch.com/2013/08/06/fullscreen-sued-by-nmpa/
This was the first shot fired and Youtube got scared as shyt and put the content ID system into overdrive.

If Youtube doesn't grow some balls and take a stand this could be the beginning of the end of it. Classic Game Room was a channel that was just game reviews with all of its content being obviously in the fair use category and it got ran off basically by Youtube's fear of corporations. If Youtube users can't freely create content without being punished all that'll be left is a website that's just one giant commercial with nothing but corporations advertising and sponsoring everything.

Just saw DSP post this. Thank God. He got a copyright strike supposedly from SEGA and he says if its legit he's going to fight it in court and get the legal precedent set. It desperately needed to happen and now it possibly will.
