Why don’t They realize that their content creators are vastly more important than the advertisers? Nobody goes to YouTube to buy shyt and most people run Adblock anyway. They are opening the door for the content creators to leave or for the competition to create better platforms.

From what I've seen, it seems YouTube was the fastest way to make bank. I've witnessed dudes that was broke as shyt, and actually come up buying houses, moving, buying cars, etc.

With no money being spent upfront, they literally made videos and got paid.

Lmao, youtube has a monopoly and is connected with google. Not to mention when you say "content creators" you essentially mean people who make reaction videos, gamers, beauty tutorials, vloggers and rehashed skits. It's so many cookie cutter channels and youtube personalities it would be beneficial imo if some did decide to quit. Less click bait and forced jokes. And all the major social sharing sites are doing things similar and cracking down on content they aren't fond of honestly.

I can easily counter you by saying “ how does YT attract advertisers without content?” You gotta keep in mind, YouTube isn’t Netflix. They do not create ANY of the content they have. They are merely the middle man. The content creators can start their own site or move to another video streaming service.

I totally agree. Not everyone deserves to be paid for posting their random videos. I just feel like they are siding too heavily with the advertisers. Huge Channels like hodgetwins have had to alter their video format and are actively advertising their own website on the videos. That drives away potential eyes that advertisers are seeking. A common ground has to be found.

Y'all are doing a lot of reacting without really thinking. Going by what Google said in their statement, YouTube Creator Blog: Additional Changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to Better Protect Creators, 90% of creators affected by this change are making less than $2.50 per month and 99% of creators affected by this change are making less than $9.00 per month.

If this affects you, you aren't making shyt and your income shouldn't have been a motivator. If you were trying to actually make money then this stopping you means you have a weak drive because you need a lot more to make a livable income off of this. And Youtube sure as hell doesn't care because anyone who leaves Youtube over this doesn't matter whatsoever.

A lot of people are going to twitch, patreon, dailymotion(probably not as profitable, not sure on this one)..
I know some are going to Facebook and Facebook Live..
But YT is a lot of people’s lifeline..
But at the same time a lot of creators put all their eggs in one basket,instead of just using as a gateway and then hustling to get that sponsored money or creating other avenues of currency like merch, meet ups, etc..
Just posting videos ain’t going to always get you to the money..
