There's really no upside to deactivating him or announcing Flacco as the number 2. What a performative set of moves. Just leave him on the bench in case the other two get injured, smh.
A 75% completion percentage?U fighting for the last playoff spot
And u playing in Seattle.. don’t want Zach putting up 9 for 12 for 80 yards
I mean he's only in his second year.
You can't expect him to be great this soon.
Starting him and then deactivating him every week isn't going to help the case.
He'll get another chance on a better organization. He's white so he'll no doubt get several more opportunities.
they have to set their roster each week, there is nothing performative about it. teams don’t always carry 3 QBs on the active rosterThere's really no upside to deactivating him or announcing Flacco as the number 2. The Jets have no one on their offensive coaching staff that has been on the job for more than two seasons. These guys are first time coaches along with the first time NFL quarterback. That is a recipe for disasterback in the day that mattered not anymore.
With most qbs nowadays you at least see something their second year

I would generally agree, but he played at BYU against limited competition and then was pushed start for a New York team. Mahommes sat & so did Trey Lance. They also got a chance to at least see what type of preparation was necessary for a starter in the NFL. He had questionable leadership in college (he wasn't a captain at BYU) and the Jets set him up to fail. I'm not trying to make excuses for him as a player, but he never had this level of expectation until he got to the NFL. They rushed him out there and now these are the results. Lawrence and Fields were scripted to be the top 2 qbs all year, and then we had to go and reach for Wilson. We could have taken Watson or Mahommes years ago, when the Bears reached for Trubisky. We just keep missing layups.back in the day that mattered not anymore.

The difference is, Alex had offensive coaches on the staff that have NFL experience longer than he had been in the league unlike Zach.Really reminds me of Alex Smith at the beginning of his career. Difference is Alex has always been likeable and had a good attitude. Zach does not come across that way.
It's not about a lack of great, it's about being one of the worst QBs in the league two years in a row in an era that's never been more QB friendly. You can't be terrible and have your team respond better to any QB that isn't you.
