Wonder how those animated battle models would show the outcome of a battle..
In the actual battle, the Persians sent their forces in waves instead of all at once. If they did what happened in the video, the Spartans would’ve been crushed

How? Zulus, like other Bantus, used iron weapons.
if you google each weapon sets you will see a big differance. also spartans were real killers. alot of zulu conflict was symbolic. they would be overwhelmed

I’m familiar with the Zulu spear and knockberrie. They’re no joke. Also, Zulu conflicts weren’t that symbolic. The Zulus sent peoples running halfway across Africa from them (Mfecane)!
Imo the zulu spears are top tier but the cowhide shields are lacking and the one handed axe is good but not great. Ill give them tactics and manpower along with physical composition but their not my favorite ancient african army. I seen some dahomey and akan blades in a museum that had me

I think people in this Thread are really undervaluing the importance of armor. Zulus have cowhide shields for protection and what else? Spartans have bronze cuirasses, bronze helmets, thick shields coated in bronze, and bronze arm/leg greaves.
It’s the reason why during the 1st Crusades the Christians were having so much success against the lightly armoured Muslims even though they were outnumbered in a lot of battles 2 to 1.

Also people not taking into account Calvary and Artillery. Zulu might be better 1 on 1 fighters and will give them trouble fighting guerilla warfare but Zulu wouldn’t even get close to them with the Archers and Greek Phalanx .

i feel like it would be a close battle but the zulu would win in the end even tho hoplites were nothing to fukk it they mainly only knew how to fight head on The zulu impi were so versatile with it you wouldn't know which way they was coming and like others said the bull horn tactic would best the phalanx not mention Zulus were physically superior just like Black athletes today
