This the same dumbass who had Nick Foles over Wilson last year and Flacco over Brees in '13

He is a good passer. Should reference his '13 season when the O-line wasn't complete garbage and he wasn't dealing with a multitude of injuries. Has a quick strong delivery, showed more consistent ball placement and greatly improved his decision making cutting down on turnovers while still remaining aggressive & working on secondary receivers not named Steve Smith. Can stand tall in the pocket and deliver strikes while under pressure, He is not a great passer, but Cam is good.

Also, Cams ability to pick up first downs and boost the running game with his legs carries tangible value for an offense. Its stupid to limit the quality of a player to a single thing, include his rushing ability as well.

So I guess we're ignoring the outside factors that affected his play last season. Your refusal to acknowledge that and just list those stats with no context makes you lose credibility here

Cam was 17th in attempts that year, not only assuming duties as a drop back passer but also being utilized in the running game. If he was in an offense that asked him to throw 36 times a game his numbers would be in the top 10 year in year out. Volume is the only reason he hasn't hit 4000 yards since his rook year

Do you not find it impressive that Cam was 12th in passing touchdowns despite throwing significantly less than everyone above him with the exception of Foles who had time to eat a sandwhich behind that Philly line? And if you want to be accurate, he had 30 touchdowns that season which would place him in the top ten.

Cam ranked better than Andrew Luck and Tom Brady in completion percentage in 2013 with a significantly higher yards per attempt. So I guess Cam's accuracy > Brady & Luck, right? And you didn't account for the players who only played a fraction of the season (Ponder only 8 games, Mccown 9). Cam ranks above average otherwise.

Passer rating is a joke. I guess Nick Foles ranking #1 is supposed to mean something and Brady/Luck ranking 17th &18th respectively means they're below average. Rob Griff and Wilson were top five QB's in '12 because the passer rating said so. No, its a gimmick statistic only used by those that need a number to tell them how good a player is like PER or Win Shares in the NBA

And if you watched Cam objectively (Which I understand would be hard for you as a Falcons fan since we swept the season series including a 24 point beatdown in November) you should've been able to see a quarterback that was beyond mediocre, and established himself as much more than an athlete that can pass turning into a good passer that can run when the situation calls for it.

When backed into a corner about Cam's mediocrity, make excuses, back track and make the context as "subjective" as possible to create your own "point". at sticking to stats from two years ago (when he was at best top 15) to ignoring away last yr's failures. The one thing you are right about is that I am a Falcons fan. I'll admit this: Drew Brees was a GOAT level QB for many years and I hate the Saints. As for ya boy, Cam Newton is the definition of mediocrity as a passing QB, not even 2013 can deny that
